Hi, i just got an Asus Rx 470 8gb mining edition and i noticed that the performance are a bit low in games like GTA V ecc. I know that my pc isn't the best but i think that i can, maybe, get some better performace by getting a gaming bios on this card. Unfortunately i don't know very well how to do nor i couldn't find a bios for the card.
If some someone can help me it would be nice. I'll add to this post some specs of the card and the pc. If needed I can provide more info about the card ecc.

Sorry for my english if it's not very good.

PC:
I7-4790
16 GB ddr3
SSD 240 GB
HDD 1 TB
Asus Rx 470 attached to main display (Model: MINING-RX470-8G-LED-S)
Asus GT 710 attached to the second display due to the lack of ports on the RX
Installed latest avaiable drivers.

The card is basically an Asus Dual but is lacking outputs.

Since it has no video outputs I don't believe you can use the 710 as a passthrough and use the 470 as the frame generator. Return the card for an asus dual or msi mech.

With that written go to advanced tab in gpu-z and get a picture of the memory it uses, Samsung have ram that ends in FB, FC, FE, bios are specific to what ram is present on the card.

The card is basically an Asus Dual
It's an ASUS Expedition and it has a single DVI output.

To OP: the BIOS is already what you want it to be. You might overclock the GPU or something else in your system to gain more performance but it's risky and should be done in full consideration of respectable dangers. Only do it if you know what you're doing. Won't really be of much fruit.

I'd start with optimising RAM timings first. Yes, RAM, not VRAM.

Check if you have a proper power supply, check if your temperatures and voltages are fine then pray to whatever god you believe in and hit DEL multiple times right after pressing the power button so you enter the BIOS menu and alter the RAM latency config.

These links aren't necessarily exhaustive/100% correct but now you get the idea. Bear in mind all RAM sticks are unique. What one user achieved might be impossible on your system.

Thanks, i'll give It a look. But i think that i can't do much about that since my bios is pretty limited.

@VuurVOS look at the pns of the cards. I know at times that in the pn if 1 digit is off(eg 100 vs 101) it will still flash safely as long as the Ram matches up eg micron HFB.

I saw no rx470/570 8gb dual cards but I think there are Asus Arez Expedition 570s that might work in lieu of it.

I've got this.
Dont use the latest version of AMDVBFlash. Use AMDVBFlash 2.93. Version 2.93 uses a different syntax but that is described in the mini guide (RX 500 Series (Polaris) and Older).

Major and minor version are the same. Only patch version is different.

@Delfo Some other bioses which you can try:

I've tryed all 3 bios. the first and the second didn't worked but the third does and the performance improved a bit. The game now is less laggy, there are still some lags but it's better. I'll try buing a pcie riser instead of my pcie 1x to 16x adaptor that came with the gpu. Sadly my mb is designed by monkeys so it can't fit a large graphic card without disconnetting all the ports and the power button XD.

Gains won't be huge. If you really want to do it, use MSI Afterburner or within amd adrenalin control panel.
