Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered coming in February 2025

After the success of TRI-III Remastered, we're now being treated to The Last Revelation, Chronicles and Angel Of Darkness Remastered, now known as The Darkness Trilogy.
This is great news and it can be pre-ordered on Steam.
I'm curious to know how they handle Angel Of Darkness, a game I gave up on numerous times due to the flaky controls.

I never liked TR before 2013.

I did play this MS Store app only one, and Lara's eyes are all messed up in that one, so you aren't missing out at all. It does look better in other areas, but yeah her eyes are wacky as hell in the MS Store App version, and it breaks the immersion for me.

Newer isn't always better, is the lesson of the day.

This is cool I love TR it’s one of my favorite series. Angel of darkness was good aside from the controls as mentioned I’m eager to see how they spruce these up.

When you are playing these games though, the immersion factor usually takes over and you see those blocky outlines less and less. I agree though the 2013 tomb raider trilogy was peak - some of the most fun I have had in recent years. Just so well designed. Really surprised they never gave us another modern one yet. I'd buy it 100%.

Remastering The Angel of Darkness is a fools errand unless, in the process, one would also deign to actually finish and improve the game. Better graphics (which by themselves are arguable, I for one was rather tepid on the previous release) will not fix a fundamentally broken game. And I say this as someone who kinda appreciated what Angel was trying to do.

Here's one example where a mod has redesigned the controls to how they are in Legend, Anniversary and Underworld (LAU). One could speculate that Aspyr and the team work with AOD modders, but we probably won't know until the remaster is released.

I just tried the mod mentioned above and the LAU control set for keyboard/mouse does help, but not nearly enough because of the camera angles and sometimes the camera/mouse doesn't even control Lara.
Let's hope the Remastered version finally sorts this out because it's the only game in the series where I never even finished the first level.

My god, its like an mk2 remaster, the new tomb raider made much sense as a game, neven been a fan of tr, but the 2013 version maybe was the first game I completed 100%, got me nailed to my desktop chair couldn't believe it was real, same feeling i had when I played the Witcher 3, it was game went from the future. And look what dan be done using rasterizing shit in games, no need for tracy Reynolds fancy and expensive stuff. About tr2013 i just love it. And the second one too, I think it has a survival mode really good to play as if it were a standalone, got the 20 anniversary edition, just finished the campaign. Now got the last one to end, 1500 games is a bit too much games to end in one life

I was going to post the exactly same thing. If the game is fixed on the remaster, then there's nothing to complain.

TR 4 was the first, and so far only game in the series that I played. It was fun, but I never finished it, as I found it a bit too hard back then. I never really liked the "games = a challenge" concept, to be fair.

With that said, I got the 1-3 remaster on sale last time, I'll probably pick these up, too.

Agreed. I can't see the devs releasing TRAOD without fixing the glaring issues, especially the control mechanics. I tried modern controls in the TRI-III remasters, but had to revert to tank controls, as I did in Angel.
But even in Angel, the tank controls were all over the place, so they have some serious work to do.
