RX6000 series GPUs poor performance not fully utilised SOLVED, I should say mitigated

So I have a Sapphire RX6800 refence card that has been plagued with poor utilisation in games (World of Tanks) and GPUZ render test. Also read many forum posts regarding the same issue, also an article in PC Mag I believe who found the same thing with some older game titles lacking fps.

Well I found a fix, which should lead AMD to the root of the bug, seeing as they haven't solved it since the RDNA 2 launched.

In GPUZ render test for example the core clock usually, utilisation and power draw are low. The fix, go to display settings, increase the screen scale higher (max), close the app (or game), reopen and run render test again and voila, full load and power draw is restored.

So many replies to various posts I've seen stating your game just doesn't need to push the GPU, yer right

Have you sent any reports of this to AMD directly?

Yeah, in order for GPU-Z render test to utilize the GPU better, you have to run full screen mode....

I don't remember having issues running RX 6800 XT. Ran DX9 through DX-12_2 benchmarks. Gave it to my brother for his ""Birthday Card"" and he uses it daily. Has not reported any issues, but he doesn't play the same games.

No, that’s not the issue, screen scaling setting is…..

Same test, only difference is normal vs 225%

And GPUZ render test is in a window, not full screen

Have you sent any reports of this to AMD directly?
I haven’t, but it seems they are already aware

Interesting. Never had any issues with a RX 6700 XT though I use the card more rarely these days.

The more its reported the better timing it gets addressed

You may look into this as well.

I’ve posted the issue to the AMD support forum

Thank you for the link, I have been looking into MPT, I tried his settings, the issue persists.

They just don't give a damn about RDNA2 anymore, precisely from the beginning of this year, just judging by the drivers alone. Reported or not, I'm afraid it won't be fixed.
