Hello everyone. I am having an interesting problem with GPU-Z.

I download and install GPU-Z. After the first installation, it opens without any problems. However, after turning the computer off and on or after trying to open it after a while, it does not open at all.

I could not find the reason for this problem. I am using Windows 11 Pro version.

My system components are as in my signature.

I don't get any error messages.

Let me put it this way, I used to use a system with a 5900x processor and an x570hero motherboard. Now I have a new system with a 7900x3d and an x670e hero motherboard. I have been experiencing this problem since I switched to this new system.

1. I install GPU-Z. After installing it, I open it and it works.
2. Then I close the system.
3. I open the system again and click to open GPUZ. There is no response.
It doesn't open.

The same problem occurs in the portable version. It does not open after the first opening.

If you check in Task Manager -> Details, do you see a GPU-Z process even after closing it?

I'm kinda green in this regard so I might be way off but I see you use a lot of ASUS ROG hardware. Do you also have their software running in background? What if you remove everything ASUS (software, not hardware) and try again?

Windows Firewall perceives Gpuz as a threat and blocks the application.
I downloaded different versions of gpuz and they did the same.
Even though there is no virus on my computer, it perceives the gpuz application that I downloaded and installed as a threat.

I don't use any rog apps.

Despite that, I still have this problem.

Also easy to verify you’ll have a yellow triangle icon with an exclamation mark within if you go into Security - Windows Defender or if you launch the Windows Security app and look at the Firewall tab.

Do you have a log entry or similar?
01.jpg

It gives the warning Virus:Win32/Jeefo.A

and blocks GPU-Z and does not open again after installation.
Since I use Turkish, the screenshot is in Turkish but the virus it found is exactly what I shared.

So, it's a safer bet to download GPU-Z here at TPU. There is a related thread on this already:

Hello. I have this problem even though I downloaded it from Techpowerup. And I couldn't solve it.

Can you right click the exe, properties, digital signature, details, check if it's OK?

I downloaded and installed it again from Techpowerup US-3 Server.

In the Digital Signatures section, it shows "This Digital Signature is OK".

I had previously downloaded it from Techpowerup DE and Techpowerup NL servers.
I am getting a virus warning in the files I download from these servers.

IMHO - given that it checks out - perhaps at this point you should just whitelist the application. I have had to do this in the past, just because bitdefender was a paranoid AV suite (dropped it because of all the false negatives positives).

Also - make sure you have a backup (I always have multiple backups). That way if you get a virus, you can return you system to a previous state.

False positives ;)
False negative is when it passes the verification, but it's actually infected.

Submit as false positive here, Microsoft is usually pretty quick fixing this
There doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment. It works normally. But if the virus warning comes again, I will notify Microsoft as you said.

I always have a second backup.

I think some versions of gpuz on the internet have a trojan. It doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment.
