Hi everyone, I bought a Sapphire rx 5700 xt Pulse(2nd Hand), i noticed that under load the card temps are 82c and hotspot 110c+.

I replaced the pads and done repasting several times, no changes.

After a quite while, I downloaded the software of Sapphire(Trixx), it detected my card as a Sapphire rx 5700 xt nitro+. Through more looking with GPU-Z and the VGA Database I found out that a bios of the nitro is on my card.

I decided to change the bios and downloaded the latest available bios of the pulse Version. When I was doing the flashing, it failed because of SSID mismatch.

So I wanted to ask, could a Bios replacement fix the hight Hotspot Temps?
If yes how can I get through the SSID missmarch error?

Thank you

Maybe is non of the above Pulse or Nitro, maybe is not even a 5700XT.
Is first thing you have to check when buying video cards second hand, if BIOS matching the card advertised. If not better return it.

Somebody with more knowledge about BIOS should help you.

I switched the BIOS from the card itself, cuz this Card has a BIOS switch and you can switch to the silent mode, after doing this, I can see that the BIOS belongs to the Pulse version.
Hotspot decreased little, I saw that the boost clock should be about 1950mhz for the Pulse card and with performance Bios it was set to 2100mhz so the Silent mode was much better.
I repasted it again with a mx-6 and undervolted to 1950mhz 1025mV and now Hotspot is decreased for about 15 degrees. Performance increased and FPS are more stable.
Thank you!

You need to use amdvbflash 2.93 for cross flashing the vbios. See mini flash guide:

Get amdvbflash 2.93

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Then look for Version 4.68, underneath 4.68 you will see a link to show older version, click that and you should see version 2.93

Follow these steps carefully:

1. Open your "C:" drive in Windows, create a new folder, call it atiflash.

2. Extract the contents of atiflash_293.zip to the "C:\atiflash" folder

3. Find the bios file you downloaded and rename the bios file to 5 digits with .rom on end Example RX 580, change file to rx580.rom (r****.rom)

4. Move r****.rom to the "C:\atiflash" folder

5. Open the start menu, type cmd, when cmd.exe appears right click it and hit "Run as administrator"

6. At the command prompt type in cd\ and press enter until only C:\> is on the screen.

7. Type in cd/atiflash and press enter, you should see C:\atiflash>

8. Type in amdvbflash.exe -i to identify the gpu you want to flash with a 0, 1, or 2)

9. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
(there is a space between the e and -unlockrom and 0)(0 is the number zero)
press enter and you will be prompted that the "ROM Unlocked" (or 1, 2)

10. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 r****.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0).
(Or 1, 2)

Press Enter
