that is...an interesting case. I don't quite understand the benefits, but if it makes you happy that's what's important. They've edited out where any of the IO panel cables go from their pictures lol. some cables have a lot of strain relief and it's hard to make hard 90 degree turns straight off the back of the motherboard, so be careful with that, considering they stick out the top of the case and have to turn immediately to go out the back with the top panel installed.

For the memory selection, I've heard some people have had issues running over 6000MT/s on Ryzen systems, but I'm not an expert on that particular situation so I'll let others chime in on specifics.

The taichi lite is also a good option to consider in that series...I think all important specs are the same, it's just a little less flashy and thus less expensive.

Hi, thanks for reply.
What is wrong with the case you didn't explain? It got lots of room for multiple large fans that i want to install like 3 on top, 3 on the sides plus the AIO cpu cooler is very big. What other Full cases would you recommend?
I can use default speed settings for RAM if I have trouble with higher speeds.

The Taichi is only expensive by $50 at $450 compared to Taichi Lite at $400. It seem Taichi has better cooling with all those metal plates and big plate on the back which Taichi Lite doesnt have.
Which other motherboards are recommended?

A couple things I'd change:
  • Change the AIO from a 420 mm to a 360 mm, don't think a 420 is necessary and it reduces case compatibility
  • Change the motherboard to the MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI because it's much less expensive ($220 cheaper) and it should be more than sufficient
  • Change the PSU to the EVGA 1000 GT because 1200 W is not necessary for this build and it'll save you $180
  • Change the case to the Lancool 216 because it has very good airflow and comes with all the fans you'd need
Also, a few questions regarding component choice:
  1. What would you need 64 GB for? If you're not doing anything ridiculously RAM-intensive (video editing, complex simulations, etc.), 32 GB will be fine.
  2. Why do you want 20 TB of storage?

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
I would drop all the costs down and get faster hardware - cheaper board, cheaper ram (any hynix A kits will work) - probably stick to 2x4TB WD850X, but up to you , and get a 850W plat PSU and call it a day... that would let me get a better CPU:
CPU: 9800X3D or 9950X (or wait for 9950x3d)
MB MSI 670E
Ram: 64 GB of KLEVV 6400 CL32 A Dies
PSU: something smaller, but very high quality, and way cheaper (850W plat or 1K psu is more than plenty).
CASE: I would get something smaller personally but preference here. Ur using all NVME with a cool running system... You don't need a mini fridge with 12 fans next to you.

If you're getting a white case, white AIO and white mobo an graphics completes the look. White case with random colored components looks cheap.

Check out this case:

I really like the Asrock X870E Nova I don't think the taichi is worth 100 more over it. Otherwise save some money and get better hardware going with an X670E board that has all the connectivity you need.

For gaming 9800X3D
For productivity 9950X or wait for the 9950X3D.

I have a 7950X3D I like it but it requires user intervention to get the most out of it the 7900X3D is just 2 6 core cpu glued together by the IF which is fine if all cores are the same but they are not meaning some games will not behave unless you tie them to the 6 cores with vcache if you play a lot of games with anticheat you'll have to disable the non cache ccd to get the best performance.

As for other motherboard options, I have only spent a lot of time looking at the ASRock models. I did forget earlier about the Nova version (like oxrufiioxo listed). There are less VRM-phases, but for AMD I really don't think that's an issue. Most of the time the huge VRMs are only needed for overclocking Intel chips lol. I don't have a lot of trust for Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI anymore. I've had mixed results with all of them so I wouldn't try to talk you into or out of any of them. I don't think it matters what brand you buy, you always have a chance of there being issues (just like there's a great chance everything works well). The ASRock Nova WiFi even has an extra nvme slot (5 total).

AH, sorry, I thought you specifically picked that case because it is CTE. The motherboard is rotated in that case from "standard", which means the I/O panel for the motherboard (and GPU displayport/HDMI ports) will end up on the top of the case underneath a grill-panel. So you have to route cables through an opening in the top-back of the case and then to take a sharp 90-degree turn downward to plug into the motherboard/GPU.

This also means that you cannot install 3 fans on top (only 1-2 fit):

^you can see next to the fans where the motherboard I/O connections will go (and under one partially where the GPU connections will be). That velcro-strap on the bottom of the picture is for securing your cables as they come in through the opening in the top-back:

So it's really set up for a front-to-back (or back-to-front) airflow with a little exhaust on the top. I don't have any reason to think it would be bad performance, but it's quite unique. My assumption was that you knew this and that you picked it for this reason.

I agree with jak above that you probably don't need a 420mm AIO, but that one you picked is pretty sweet (I'd check for compatibility with that case or any other you pick though because it's a thick radiator and as that would have to mount in the front of that case you picked, there's only so much room between the power supply shroud and the radiator/fan.

I disagree with jak about the EVGA power supply. They used to be fantastic (well, most of them), but I wouldn't buy anything from them anymore because we have no idea how long they'll actually support their products at this point. They're a dwindling company that aren't what they used to be (and I'm someone who's had many of their supplies,
GPUs, etc. and still using their z690 Classified motherboard as a long time fan of their products previously).

As for cases, there are tons of great options. Personally, I really like be quiet! cases. The Dark Base 701 and 901 are really nice (901 is pricey though).
Other options I've heard good things about:
Antec P20C (fits 360mm rad up top)
Antec Flux (fits 360mm rad up top or 420 in the front)
Fractal north (fits 360mm rad in front)
Corsair 5000D airflow (getting older, but still a good case with customization options. fits 360mm up top)
Antec Performance 1 FT (unique looking case. fits 420mm rad up front, 360mm up top)

^this is by no means an exhaustive list, but check out reviews and look at the specs to see which ones fit the hardware you want to use. Like if you're really set on that LF3 420mm AIO, it's really going to limit your options. I personally like the sound of 140mm fans considerably better than 120mm fans, so I'd probably go with a slightly bigger case that I can run all 140mm fans in, but that's me. You're the one that's going to sit next to the case and have to look at it, so pick something you like that has good enough airflow and fits the stuff you want to put in it.

That is a good point. I'm just saying that a 1200 W PSU is overkill; a 1000 W PSU (not necessarily that EVGA one) would be more cost-effective. Heck, I'd personally go with a good 850 W and I think that I'd be fine (that's just me being a cheapskate though).

For starters, there's zero chance you will be able to run 64 GB at 6800 MT. Perhaps with CUDIMMs on Intel, but not on X670E X870E. Furthermore, 6400 is the best you'll get while staying in "sync", you need to run 8000+ MT to make breaking sync worth it in performance, or it's literally slower. Zero chance of running 8000 64 GB, so just get 6000 64 GB and hope it works, because you're likely going to have to run it at 5600 MT or even lower to be stable.

Secondly 7900X3D is only slightly faster than a 9800X3D in productivity, but the 9800X3D has much better ST and gaming performance, while also having the perks of single CCD 8 core rather than 6 + 6. It's a compromise chip from the 7950X3D/9950X alternatives if you need the cores, and the compromise doesn't make sense considering the budget you're dumping into the rest of the build.

What is your use case?

I see you have a lot of flash storage, is there a reason for that? Video editing/productivity etc. These things tend to work better with CUDA GPUs.

I'd advise building with a 9800X3D, or waiting for the 9950X3D and going with NVIDIA RTX 50xx that will release around the same time. RDNA 3 is long in the tooth as is RTX 40xx, but at least Ada has decently useful RT and AI hardware, whereas you'll have to wait for RDNA 4 to get better units, but that stops at midrange.

For $300 I'd be looking at ATX 3.1 Titanium units. Look at HWBusters for shortlists.

You're essentially spending more on storage than on the guts of your PC as is, which is an interesting choice that needs very specific use cases to make sense.

The case seems a bit large for my taste. I'd use a 360 mm AIO and a smaller case like the ones @Bobaganoosh mentioned earlier. If you don't mind the size, it seems like a decent case. Also, I still rest my case that you might want to consider investing in a NAS if you need that much storage in your PC. I'd also monitor the amount of RAM you use with your current PC while editing to see how much you need.

That case looks pretty decent. I think you could fit that 420mm rad in the front, there seems to be plenty of room (especially with the fans mounted in front of the mounting bracket as intended). If it were me, I'd also get 3 Arctic P14 Max fans. I'd install those P14 Max's on the liquid freezer 3 radiator (intake), then install the P14 fans that come with the radiator on the top and rear of the case (exhaust). I'd install the 3-120mm fans that come with the case on the bottom (intake). Might need a fan hub or a couple splitters, but that would top out the airflow in that case and those are all fairly quiet fans.

That's definitely going to be a monstrous build. Have fun!

I love mine, but be aware the 2024 case is a different design to the previous year
