Hello everyone,

I am a new PC user and I need some advice on choosing a monitor for my mini PC. The mini PC I have selected is the Beelink SER6, which fits my budget.

For the monitor, I am considering the KTC 24" 165Hz Gaming Monitor. It features FHD (1920x1080p) resolution, a 1ms response time, and is compatible with FreeSync and G-Sync. It also includes MPRT, HDR10, 125% sRGB, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, headphone support, eye care technology, VESA support, tilt functionality, and a fast IPS panel.

I found it on Amazon, but living in the UAE, it can be challenging to find good budget monitors here.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well, for starters, you need to determine your needs, wants and budget. Your example is a 24" monitor. Is that the size you want? I note (at least here on the Amazon US site) there 5 different KTC 24" monitors all for under $100. So you need to be more specific as to which one you are considering.

Also, what is your budget? I know nothing about KTC but I do know that under $100 for a 24" monitor is not a lot. So I would not expect state-of-the-art performance.

And last, what will you be using this monitor for? General computer tasks? Watching YouTube videos? Serious gaming with the latest games?

Hi,
I use this monitor and am very satisfied.
MAG 274UPFDE G-Sync/HDR400/144Hz/4K ...
You can inform yourself, but it`s not real cheap.

Actually, I live in the UAE, so you'll need to check on Amazon.ae.

I'm considering the small model with the H24T09P-SA-0819 style. It costs 337 dirhams on sale here, which is about 91 dollars.

It's not much, but that’s my budget. I'm focusing on medium gaming, along with schoolwork and multitasking.

Thanks!

That's a LOT out of my budget. my budget is just 330-350 dirhams, and I think in dollars that will be 95. but either way, I need solid performance and reiliability

That should work fine with the Beelink SER6 that you have since it uses the 680M graphics core and it is in your budget. I would also recommend that you use the Display Port with the Beelink and keep the HDMI ports for a console and video inputs. Also, since the monitor only comes with a HDMI cable, I would pick up a 1.4 Display Port cable from Amazon as well when you buy it.

The specs for that system are confusing AF....

Triple 4K@144Hz screen display output via HDMI 2.1 & DP 1.4 & USB3.2, which enable you to multi-task easily, and enough to meet your various needs. The FPS is up to 60FPS, and you can play LOL, DOTA, OW, PUBG, CS:GO and other online games.

so at desktop its 144Hz, but gaming stomps it down to 60Hz? If so, I wouldnt bother with a high refresh monitor for desktop tasks.

I would not get anything less than 2560 x 1440 (QHD) which can be found for less than $100

seriously?
Link a QHD monitor from amazon.ae for the OP's budget, I had a quick look, couldn't find one, mostly 600+, nor anything on amazon.co.uk for less than £150, QHD at $100 seems a stretch, IPS 165hz 1080p seems to be a more realistic target to fit into their strict budget IMO and even then these are the lower end of the market which the OP seems to be aware and accepting of considering the budget

MSI Pro MP243XW 24 inch IPS, 100 Hz - 376 AED

I've had my eye on this monitor for a while, I find it to be stunning and the panel isn't half bad for the price.

There is a smaller and cheaper variant in black

MSI Pro MP223, 22 inch VA, 100 Hz - 228 AED

Both are 1080p. I'd personally go with the first if I could.
