At BF i bought a RX 6650 XT for a secondary rig. So glad i returned it a few days later, not only because the Sapphire Pulse cooling was crap, but because at the same price i will get a new Intel card and play around with it and on it.

I do like Intel's video card designs, so simple yet elegant. I just hope Intel can catch up software wise, the hardware's there.

My biggest fear with Gelsinger's departure from Intel is that the new leadership is going to give up on Arc because they're too focused on short-term results.

They print a lot of electrical waste symbol on the card

No place or spot to print the corresponding connectors on the card. It could make life easier when the ports would be labeled with dp-1, dp-2,dp-3, hdmi-0 - same as the software initialises the card

This is a strong statement. Even 4090 is not ideal for 1440p anymore.
I'd rather word this in the lines of "making it great for casual gaming at 1440p."

If those claims hold and drivers are decent then looks like a decent product for the asking price.
Yeah, I was just about giving up on intel but those seem like a very promising combination of value and performance, if they hold up. Let's hope they stick to discrete graphics as they seem to actually be putting out worthwhile midrange cards now.

If this card is marginally faster than the 4060 for 250$ this product is DOA. The savings compared to AMD is too low to make me willing to deal with driver inconsistencies or recommend it.
Chop off another 30$ and now we're talking.

Frankly this sounds a lot like Intel quickly rushing this release to be able to sell some products in fear of not being able to sell any for profit once the performance mills of AMD/Nvidia get going.

Smexy as fluff! I enjoyed the A750 limited edition design and there's more of it here! Do want!

What game can the 4090 not handle at 1440p?
For a 4090 owner, ideal is 120+ FPS. There's a list of games you will certainly struggle running this smoothly.

Intel drivers are now more mature; W1zzard test in 10 days will be also a good indication.

Nvidia almost abandonned this price point of 250$, even more at 220$ for the B570 which should not be very far in perf.
Just see the 3060 => 4060 (lack of) transition.

Sure, Ngreedia wil release GTX 5 series at CES, but you wont see any medium range card before a very long time - if ever (think rebranding of old GPUs).
Similarly for AMD it seems with 7900 level cards, way above this one.

Will i jump ship? For the moment, no, as I have a old mobo which is not rebar compatible, so I cant use that.

My new rig is programmed in 1.5years. Then i ll see what's on the market.

My next purchase is set on lunar lake anyway for my daily convertible, so I ll use Battlemage, somehow :).

Thing is, Intel only looks positive compared to Nvidia, but in this price class your main competition is AMD, not Nvidia.
You can tout that your raytracing is miles better, but frankly at this performance tier it's almost never worth it.
With an MSRP of 250$ it is more expensive than a 7600.
By just saying it's 10% faster than a 4060 they're effectively saying they're about matching AMD's value.
Now, let me ask again. Do you want an AMD card? Or an Intel card? Same performance, same price.
I'd pick AMD any day of the week no questions asked.

We can mill about the VRAM difference, but this is likely to be addressed when AMD (and Nvidia maybe? lol?) releases the next gen in a couple months.
Which is why I mentioned the rushing part.
It's just stupid comparing value to a card with an MSRP of almost 2 years ago of which the price no longer is relevant.

At this price it's an expensive toy which can double as your budget GPU, but it needs to offer a more compelling value.

And don't even let me get started on Intel pricing in EU compared to AMD.

Using rumors and Intel's B580 results as a baseline, it looks like an epic matchup is coming in 25Q1: 5070, 8800XT, B770 might all be around 300W, $500 and have similar performance to the 4070 Ti Super.

I think the sub $500 GPU market might be coming back!

As we were discussing on another thread, the factor Mindshare is really hard at work.

See how many positive messages are here for poor ol'Intel and of course, the Ngreedia fanbois have to mention their brand.

But if it was an AMD GPU article, the trashing would be epic, as usual.

Anyways, I'm not sure how to look at this one, given all the rumors stating that Intel will abandon the GPU market.

they claim 6% perf / $ over 7600 AFAIK.

Last year, i would pick AMD. With my old rig, i would. Well, i do have a Vega56 (after a RX480 that died).
In 2025? i am not sure anymore.

if couple means >6 months, then may be.
6 months is not a small amount of time.

Not too bad at all, and XESS is better than FSR from what I have heard overall. So, there is a chance a card like this priced right could really do well.

Fingers crossed Intel can give us a semi-flagship gpu someday. Doesn't have to beat a RTX 5090, but just something that beats a 7900 xtx across the board at 1440p, - we need more competition in general if AMD is ever going to come back to the flagship sector.

Now that Fortnite is on Unreal Engine 5.5! I've got a 4090 and it dips below 60fps often on max video settings at 1440p. It fluctuates between 40-65 fps, with huge dips to 5fps for areas not loaded before or too much action. (no DLSS, FSR, motion blur, frame insertion used)
