No New Radeon Drivers For Two Months?

Hi

Current Radeon drivers are almost coming up to two months old (2024-10-18). I've not seen a gap like this before.

I did a search but no information came up as to why they haven't released anything new. Does anyone have any info?

Was wondering the same myself, was hoping for a new one for Stalker 2 but to no avail.

Well, Mr. vbq7qK68eyYAH4iR (Not taking the piss - I genuinely love the name. It sounds like a bitcoin wallet or wifi-password/WPA key)

AMD are probably prepping for the 8000 series. 7000 series are probably as good as they are going to get for now. Is your gaming sucking right now?

I went to my password manager, generated a password and copied it to my username. I figured the generator is going to be more creative than me.

Less sucking and more hoping for some extra performance in Stalker 2, just like remekra.

AMD improved RT performance on 6000 series quite a while after 7000 was released. We can all hope for the same treatment again, maybe?

My gaming is horrific, but that's my skill. :D

No new drivers is not a bad thing. No news is good news. Besides, drivers are not something that need updates without reason.

Yeah I was gonna say "are you guys updating your drivers??" I only do it if I have issues.

Does it matter? Are any Games suffering that you are currently playing or are we complaining about not getting what we are used to? This probably means that they are working a new GPU into Adrenline. There is something funny going on too. I built a rig using the 8600G but the case I have only supports hard shut down when Windows is not installed. I had to use a DGPU to get picture and then install WIndows. After the OS install I installed the latest 24.10 driver from AMD's website and in the tuning section there is now a selection to tune the memory for Productivity or Gaming. That is not in my version on my Gaming desktop. The GPU I used was the 7600XT.

Does it matter?
Yes. The Radeon Software has still several bugs and some new games have some AMD specific issues.
biggest unfixed problems which i encounter every single day:

Display Sleep = Radeon Software occasionally opens itself and resets parts of the overclocking (only the powerlimit and Fans, not the core/memory tuning)
Using the iGPU in Ryzen CPUs combined with any other GPU is completely broken when you use any kind of hardware acclerated stuff like watching a youtube video.
Example: 7900XT -> Primary Monitor, iGPU -> Second Monitor
Browser with Youtube Video running on Second Monitor = dragging windows on the main display, scrolling through something etc runs at ~15 FPS and stutters a lot.

none of that has been fixed and AMD doesn't really seem to care either.

You are asking the MB to run 2 Displays at the same time from the main cable connected to the GPU and blame the software for that? I know you can do it but does the MB support Pcie and Internal at the same time officially? Would the same thing happen if you just plugged the 2nd display into another port on the DGPU you would be good. Do you know that there is something

Is that AMD software that is causing the sleep issue. I have an issue since 24h2 that even though I do not even use sleep I wake up to a black screen every morning. I can Game all day though with no lack of enjoyment.

What?
i plug my main display into my 7900XT and my second monitor into my iGPU through my motherboards DisplayPort since RDOA3s brilliant chiplet design pulls a hundred watts at idle with two monitors above 60Hz... And that completely breaks the (2D Only like desktop, browsers etc.) rendering on the 7900XT as soon as the iGPU is doing anything hardware accelerated.

And the Sleep/reset/open issue persists for over a year now in W10 and 11.

I have a 7900XT and used the iGPU for display output and didn't have an issue with it.

I am sorry that is your experience. I have 2 Displays connected and they are both 4K 100+ hz but I don't see a high power draw issue. I don't know what AMD is doing with the IGPU but those 2 cores are not very powerful. In fact when I was troubleshooting the max refresh on my 7900X3D IGPU was 30 hz. You may be asking it to do more than it can. A 8600G might be a completely different experience.

Yeah I was gonna say "are you guys updating your drivers??" I only do it if I have issues.
Yeah, practically the same here. Though I update the chipset drivers always when there is a new version, but unless I have issues with GPU drivers (on both NV and AMD), I'm not betatesting the new versions unless there's improvements for a game I play or something similar.

This has happened many times before; including during blockbuster game launch seasons. In this particular instance, the release of 24.11.1 was ultimately cancelled due to many critical outstanding issues as you can see in the release notes, which covers most of what I know. Some of which don't quite seem to be considered resolved but you should upgrade to it.
