HIFIMAN brings its daring new unveiled driver technology to the HE1000 line with the HE1000 Unveiled! This open-back premium planar magnetic set of headphones is not as nerve-wracking to use as the Susvara Unveiled, yet gives you the same benefits of better vocals, more accurate timbre, and smoother treble.

If you want what is subjectively the best of the HIFIMAN oval ear cups headphones
So does it mean you like these more than the Susvara? Great review as usual.

Susvara ear cups are more a mix of round and oval, more teardrop shaped than oval. When people generally refer to HIFIMAN's oval ear cups headphones, it's the HE1000/Arya/Anana/Edition series. The Shangri-La Sr. also I suppose, but that's a whole other thing.

Thanks for clearing that up, I suspected as much but wasn’t sure. I’m a bit surprised it didn’t get a recommendation, though the text delivers the reason why I guess, it’s too expensive right now.

How do these compare to the Audeze LCD-X?
The better comparison would be the newer and less expensive Arya Unveiled, whose review I just submitted minutes ago and should hopefully go live next week. I personally would take it over the LCD-X.

In a weird way, it's because I already knew the new Arya Unveiled was on the way even though I had submitted this particular review before I heard the Arya. Once you see that review, you will understand more.

I wish there were more words in the comparison between this and the He1000stealth. As a owner of the He1000v2 I was curious.. could you maybe comment with a few more words here? I would be grateful.. cheers!

Hi, I felt the newer Arya Stealth is a better comparison to the HE1000 Stealth and have a comparison in that review. For what it's worth, I do fine the HE1000 Stealth to have a warmer + brighter tuning than the HE1000 Unveiled, making it feel more U-shaped by comparison. I still like the HE1000 Stealth more than the HE1000se as a result, yet tonally the HE1000 Unveiled is easier on the ears while still having plenty of extension in the highs. It also has a noticeably improved vocal timbre over the HE1000 Stealth that has the mids feel slightly compressed as a result of the lows and highs being more emphasized to my ears.

Thanks.. Makes sense looking at measurements. I need to try the he1000 stealth to see if “resolution” in the bass and image separation is better than the v2

Let us know if you get a chance, I have not heard the HE1000 V2 either.

For sure the STAX sr-l700 is heads and shoulders ahead of the he1000v2 in terms of resolution. I wish the new he1000 could challenge that. Any non electrostatic headphone that could get close?

Probably not in that price range.

So basically the same thin sopunding as previous models, prominent midrange dip, hiss in the highs and little to no bass. And of course the well nonw fake details by boosted highs. Basically one can get this package more or less with an open box Arya for much less...
At least the build quality and materials seems to be a bvit better than usual, though all of that doesnt matter when the soldering is bad quality and drivers fails...

It's not thin sounding anymore and the midrange dip is filled out here, I am not sure we are seeing the same thing.
