If you are happy with the console, Christmas is right around the corner.. that cash could probably come in handy.

Outside of games, it should be pretty decent with F@H..
Staying in the times with this somewhat, which was very slow progress through the years; AI successfully folds or rather misfolds proteins with 90% accuracy. There's no need for using energy at my home in this way. https://www.asbmb.org/asbmb-today/science/100924/nobel-for-breakthrough-in-biochemistry

Am going to keep it for sure. Money already spent for it. Can keep the 1080P monitor, it's fine, but really doesn't utilize the card. That's all it really is.

Driving games are every bit as much in a doldrum as the rest of gaming. Unless you are in line with agriculture and other heavy trucking.

4070 Super or similar 3xxx feel overpowered for most things and barely adequate (30fps) for others. Might be useful if you hang onto it or hardly missed if you sell it.

Lol. I remember when we went 16 bit gaming. We are near realistic looking games. Being immersed in visual graphics is great, but VR isn't lifted to common place yet.

Probably will upgrade to 1440P and budget 150$ for the monitor. I can sell the 1080P and make up some cash there. Not that I'm strapped, but trying to not have a lot of gear any more. Already have 3 active PCs in the crib, so it's not like if one goes down, I'm F'ed or anything. remember, the son is 12, he likes Brick Rigs and I jump in with him. This is not a demanding game by any means lol. I simply kept the biggest card I had from very many sold. In the last 24 months, I've probably purchased and sold over 100 video cards.

So it's difficult to decipher the needs over the wants or just go all out and 4090 it. But no way for that much money. What do you think the 6GB Titan goes for today. Back than it was an easy stack. 100 bucks? That's why I don't buy the highest end hardware. So as ExiledAirMan above said, think with the wallet. I do, the 6800 and 4070 where impulse buys and that's when I realized it was time to stop benching, well at least a long break. Add those 2 numbers together...... Face palm. 4070 is faster by the way. Except maybe FireStrike benchmark, Id have to go look. What I don't know is what games would use a similar or same engine as the benchmark to call the AMD card faster for those games type of stuff. :)

I used to be like that too but now that I have a 4K QD-OLED 240Hz monitor (and also an LG OLED TV 4K 120Hz), I must admit that 4K looks so much sharper/cleaner...that's why I bought a 4090 (at MSRP) lol. If I was just playing at 1080p the 4070 SUPER is amazing, and 1440p the 4070 Ti SUPER for the extra VRAM.

But if someone is not into Ray Tracing at all then the 7900 XTX is an amazing GPU that will last you for years and there are some really good deals out there!

Was at one point going to grab a 6900gre, but already have purchased enough for a while. GTX 980 was the daily till about mid 22'. AMD is really good bang for buck. I like their cards a lot. CSGO needs none of this.

4070 Super is strong though. Winter temps are here. Should be into the near 0 air temps tonight :). If I get a minute, will check the bios switch. Chow and haircuts tonight. It's 5:37pm. Things to do yet. :)

Hmm weird... do you have 1 or 2 BIOSes on your GPU ? Maybe 1 of them is locked (the OC one is usually the one you can unlock)

Also if you need to Undervolt your GPU you don't need to use the voltage slider, you can simply use the Curve Editor (the large bottom left icon) and set a specific clock for a specific voltage.
This guy explains how to do that :

He is using a 4090 so that's different but you should be able to make something that works for you!
This card does not have a bios switch on it unfortunately.

Another way I could utilize MSI afterburner is hitting F7 and increase the v-curve to frequency ratio. Maybe I'll give that a try instead?

Edit: Nah, 1250mv is all I get. Doesn't matter what I do here. Tried remove AfterBurner and re-install. Drivers probably could use an update, but it seems to work ok like this.

1440P Solar Bay Ray Tracing renders default 1440P.
Cpu is defaults with 102 bus memory at 6900mt/s
Perf Cap is power limitation, not voltage reliability.
But on the other hand, given enough OC, it'll boost 3ghz.
edit: oh Vmem is running at 1385mhz

Here's screeny.

Okay so just use the Curve Editor and lock it at 0.900v with a specific core clock, then you'll definitely save a lot of power :)
