Bethesda has released the big Update 2 for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game with additional fixes, including the big fix where the Game Slot appears damaged or completely missing, as this issue was apparently plaguing many users. Update 2 also reduces stutter from duplicated frames during cutscenes, as well as fixes to prevent "double vision" getting stuck on screen when Indy has almost drowned.

There are also several PC specific fixes including the one for where NVIDIA Frame Generation wasn't activated properly with HDR, a fix for NVIDIA Low Latency Mode performance issues when used with Frame Generation, a fix for global illumination being completely disabled on graphics cards below minimum VRAM requirement, issues with Lighting when Path Tracing is set to Medium or High Quality, and more. The Update 2 should also fix major performance issues when NVIDIA DLSS is enabled. There are several gameplay fixes which you can check out below. All of these NVIDIA-specific issues are still somewhat present and some users over at Reddit are still experiencing issues. Some users are reporting several workarounds, including a clean installation of drivers, or enabling and disabling Frame Generation, DLSS, HDR, and other settings.

Here are the full release notes.

General
  • Fixed an issue where users Game Slot may be reported as being damaged, or may appear to be completely missing, when no actual problem had occurred.
Gameplay
  • Fixed an issue where player may be unable to equip Indy's whip.
  • Fixed an issue where a player may end up with Indy's camera permanently equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where player may drop and lose their camera if they use the quick-equip ("key item") prompt to equip their camera while they are inspecting another nearby pick-up item.
Graphics
  • Fix to prevent "Double vision" getting stuck on screen when Indy has almost drowned. To players who have already encountered this issue, repeating the near-drown should clear the issue.
  • Some further improvements to reduce "stutter" from duplicated frames during cutscenes.
  • Missions and quests - Please note this section contains some small spoilers
  • Fixed an issue where Gina may not approach the secret entrance to the Vatican Treasure Chamber, blocking the mission from progressing.
  • Fixed an issue where Gina may go to pick the lock to the exit from the Vatican Treasure Chamber as soon as you enter the room, meaning you may miss some very important story developments.
  • Fixed a big hole in the floor collision around the edge of the wall around the Ziggurat in Sukhothai that the player could fall through.
PC Specific fixes
  • Fixed an issue where NVIDIA DLSS may cause performance problems when enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where NVIDIA Frame Generation wasn't activated properly if HDR is in use.
  • Fixed an issue where NVIDIA Low Latency Mode could cause performance problems when used with Frame Generation.
  • Fixed an issue where global illumination may be completely disabled when playing with below minimum VRAM graphics cards.
  • Fixed an issue where Lighting may be over bright in interior spaces if Path Tracing (Full Ray Tracing) is set to Medium or High Quality.
  • Known Issue: NVIDIA Frame Generation may be temporarily disabled if HDR is activated for the first time. To work around this issue, disable and then re-enable DLSS. This only needs to be done once.
Xbox Specific fixes
  • Improvements to Global Illumination on Xbox, to fix issues where shadowed areas had appeared brighter than expected.
Additional Notes
  • Content creators may have experienced crashes in the game if using OBS Studio software to capture video. Updating OBS Studio to version 31.0.0 should prevent these crashes from occurring. See https://obsproject.com/ to update to the latest version.

will there be a TPU performance review of this game published at some point?

Unfortunately, no. As far as I'm aware, there are no plans for it, which does not surprise me considering all the issues it had before.

I think it will eventually be included in RT testing with the next full re-bench.

Still no FSR?
I mean every other word was Nvidia so they’ve cornered this one as another Path Tracing “Demo” I just installed it last night and haven’t had a chance to fire it up but I didn’t see any fixes that would benefit me. So Im not even sure what to expect performance wise…

For what its worth, I'm running it on a 6800xt at 1440p with everything* maxed and it runs great.

* The "Full RT" option isn't even exposed on amd cards.
Thanks for the info I feel better knowing that and I could care less about RT anyway.

Same here, all maxed out on really OC'ed 6800XT at 2560x1080, >90 FPS all the time, average 105 FPS

I'm 10h into the game and luckily haven't encountered any bug yet, visuals and performance at 4K Path Tracing + DLSS.Balanced + Frame Gen is just awesome, though the facial rendering of NPCs could be a lot better

You are joking? That input lag is terrible. It think this game has the worst DLSS FG implementation.

Go play Ghost of Tshushima with DLSS FG - that's what I call great implementation.

DLSS and FG? What are your PC specs and on what resolution are you playing?

5800x3d / RTX 4070 / DLDSR - 1440P on one PC - for this I use DLSS / FG in GoT

7800x3d / RTX 4080 SUPER - 1440p on another PC - for this, only FG + DLAA
Doesn't it feel better to have 70-80-ish FPS without FG? And why do you use DLSS? 4070 should be perfectly fine running the game on a good framerate at 1440p.

On GoT it depends on the zone. Usually yes FPS is good but I like the smoothness of 120+ FPS
If you're playing on a controller, I understand, input lag introduced by FG is barely noticeable then, perceived smoothness seems okay.
Just for a test, you should try completely disabling DLSS, FG and any form of temporal AA, play at native. You will get a few FPS less, but the visual clarity of the image, especially in motion, may hook you and you'll never look back again

I finally started to play it and am impressed with how well it runs and looks but according to the game metrics RT is on, I didn't actually see any option for it just HDR?

I tried, I feel the input lag but in this game is not actually that noticeable for me. In Indiana Jones is... atrocious input lag :)

RT is always on, there's no non-RT lighting model in this game. But there's an additional set of "Full RT" options that aren't shown to Radeon users.
Makes sense. There are pretty much only the standard GFX options available. It was set to Ultra and I Just went with it
