Heya

So for a long time I used a laptop for gaming and school and couldn't afford to own a pc becasue my family moved around a lot. Now that I've settled in on a place that I'll be living in quite a while and in conjunction with my four year old laptop bricking this week, I've decided I want a gaming PC. The goal of this PC is to get 200+ fps on 1080p on Marvel Rivals and Fortnite during the intensive parts i.e during a team fight or when there's a lot of building going on. My thought process behind picking the parts was trying to find the most bang for your buck option that totalled under 1400€ because my friend told me the sweetspot for budgeting is between 1200€-1400€.

I made this list but I'm not sure if I should spend more on a better CPU cus I heard Rivals and Fortnite especially are CPU bound. I'm torn between the 7700xt and 7800xt and I'm really not sure about the motherboard and psu.

Add a 120mm rear exhaust fan to that case, cut down on your motherboard and use the savings to size up on your SSD. Also make sure that case will fit your power supply. I read somewhere that a 150mm power supply is what fits into that case but hopefully someone here will know better.

I'm going to sound nooby but I need you to explain the reason for adding the rear fan. Are the fans that come with the case good enough?

Yea I read the same thing from GamersNexus's review on it. I was also considering the Montech XR and 903.

I think going at least with the 7800xt is a good idea for what you're trying to play.

That case is probably fine, but the extra fan they suggested is because it doesn't come with an exhaust fan. It has two front fans, which you'll want to keep there to make sure plenty of fresh air is brought in. The exhaust just tries to help make sure the heated air gets out and putting the exhaust on the top/back helps direct where that mostly happens and is the ideal place.

The 903 if using air cooling seeing how those fish tank cases such as the XR usually have bad airflow as in no front mesh panel with front intake fans. If wanting a 150mm psu for that Lian Li case then look at the Corsair RMe or MSI GL.

Their site says a 160mm fits. Looks like connections may be snug with that though the way the psu mounts sideways in the front.

Honestly I would wait a bit for the new GPUs that are about to come out in a couple of months. You could then either get a better graphic card for the money or get the same gpu cheaper.

Buying new right now is a bit of a lose/lose situation whatever you buy.

You can run the RAM at a lower MT rating, it's just better binned than the kit you chose, and cheaper too.

No point buying a budget CPU then adding 25 euros for a cooler, just get the next one up and use the boxed cooler.

It's also likely a good idea to wait for RTX 50xx, since current gen GPUs are long in the tooth but not discounted.

If you can bump the budget a 9800X3D is a great improvement if you're concerned about CPU limits.

Likely a good idea to get an ATX 3/3.1 PSU too.

The 4070s is notably faster and more efficient than the 7700XT and allows for RT and access to DLSS/DLAA.

1 TB QLC single drive system is simply too small and slow for 2025.

iGPU of the 7600 is a good backup to have if your GPU fails at any point too, unlike the 7500F.

I think this is it, I added the extra case fan and went with the other PSU as per your recommendation (Thank you btw).

I read somewhere that a 150mm power supply is what fits into that case but hopefully someone here will know better.
Someone fit the 2024 rm850x 160mm in it and it looks fine so I guess it differs between models.

I didn't think about that. I'm kinda in the need of a PC tho. Would buying and assembling the parts right now and waiting next month for the release of the new GPUs be a smart idea?

Idk what binning is and when I looked it up I still don't rly get it, it looks wayyyyy too advanced for me, can you explain. The one I picked is 90 cents more expensive than your pick.

wait actually?

Yea, I'll put that in, thanks.

I'm not rly considering RT. I went with the 7800XT.

I feel like if I need more I can just add another SSD later on. The main purpose is to play games on it and some light coding as well, QLC should do the job well enough for the priceI think.
