Newer members or guys in general, if you are submitting through benchmate for a ton of benchmarks remember to go back to the submission on the site and edit it and add a photo of your rig or benching setup to prove you are not using extreme overclocking. Maybe its not required with benchmate, I don't know, but I do this anyway just in case.

Rig pic is typically only required for competitions. (At hwbot, like bot hosted compo)

Modern processors don't OC without extreme. It is fairly easy to say you will not get past 6.2ghz on a water chiller, if you even get that lucky (Intel raptor).

Hi. Sorry we had to make a last minute adjustment to the rules because there are so many scores (I'm looking at you Deslok) that the Team and Individual walls on HWBOT overflowed and cannot keep track.

Sorry about that I actually had to re-run a bunch because I forgot to include cpu-z (I though benchmate was good enough) i'll get that sorted out for you next week probably

Yeah it's a bit odd CPUz 4-tabs is required when benchmate is the validator

Yes I was caught in that trap when benchmate first became a thing

CPU-Z 4tabs? What's this about? We need to include *four* CPU-Z tabs as well as Benchmate, for CPU benches? I thought we just needed CPU & Memory tabs up in CPU-Z, and then Benchmate as well as the score window?

Glad to see it's not just me, sorry I burned through three systems before figuring it out XD
It's alright. This whole contest has two objectives:

1) Get new people on the team and bring back old team members who have been inactive.
2) Get everyone familiar with the arcane submission rules and plenty of practice.

This helps build us up for later in the year when we try and compete in the HWBOT Team Cup. A huge part of the team cup is other teams litigating your benchmark submissions. This gets you ready.

What exactly is the benchmark that needs 4 cpuz tabs. None that I know of.

You need cpuz cpu and memory tabs only for most all benchmarks with the exception of GPUZ for 3D benchmarks.

Please go to this benchmark list.
Click the little "i" which shows rules information.
Which is accompanied by a validation screen shot.

If it's not clear in our comp rules, perhaps some colors so it stands out better. :)

GL. Anyone need help, ask right away!!

Thanks Shrimp. I thought maybe they changed the rules or something, requiring more CPU-Z tabs. I guess not.

Nope, you guys should be OK with just 2 tabs. Of course if not sure, use that link there, pick the benchmark. Click the "i" to the right there for that particular one, should be all you need there for a valid sub!!

They've only gave the place an uplift and Rearranged some things. Lot o guys don't like the new change, but this should had been done a decade ago IMO.

You shoudn't lose any points if you decide to update/improve a result with a given piece of hardware.
You also do not accumilate points by running the same hardware over and over again.
It's the best result with a given piece of hardware that nets points, all others that you've subbed but beaten go to 0 points because your best result supersedes all others you've submitted.

Here's an example from my profile and pay attention to what you see, only the very best result I've had with a given piece of hardware running a particular benchmark counts for points:

View attachment 377836

I'm saying this and using this example so hopefully it's understood by anyone with such a question about it in the future.
Sorry 8 ghz!?

What exactly is the benchmark that needs 4 cpuz tabs. None that I know of.
All of them? When I started a few years ago I got a few PMs saying my submissions were rejected / taken down because I didn't have them and would s banned if I didn't start "following the rules", which I was already...Maybe the mod just meant 2, but it seems it was implied all 4. Or maybe they didn't like that I was in top 10 (at the time under 12900K category for one of the benches).

Who knows... So I just do 4 plus the Asustweakit so rule out any deletion.

Wouldn't lie to ya.

You probably submitted to a comp that required those extra tabs. But for general submissions, you don't need all 4 unless the rules state otherwise for a particular benchmark.

Here is WR example 28th place, lots of points. Cpu and memory tabs only. :)

Edit, Don't clip the screen shot. That's a bad habit. Show the entire desktop image.

Yes, I may be new here but I have been benching since 2011 when @damric got me into it.

1. Yes, if you are enthusiast league or novice league and make a submission, it is in the rules that you need to include a picture of the machine so they can verify what sort of cooling you are using (air/water/AIO) *only*. It even says this when you make a manual submission. For Benchmate subs I usually go back and edit the submission and add a picture. Not everyone is necessarily benching on modern hardware where you can just let it boost on it's own and its better than manually overclocking it highly unless you use extreme cooling. @damric set up this competition so that anyone serious or wanting to be can learn how to sub the right way and for Enthusiast/non Extreme submissions you have to include a picture of your machine and it's in the rules.

2. Yeah afaik pretty much every 2D bench and this includes Benchmate tests only require having CPU-Z CPU and Memory tabs up. Got a little confused there but yeah that sub getting removed might be because its necessary to have more for the competition. A very good benchmarker I have massive respect for suggested that if you are on 1080p, it is best to put CPU-Z stuff on the bottom left corner of a Cinebench run like this:

3277590.jpg

As it is impossible to show everything uncovered at 1080p.

Also note the entire screen included the entire taskbar uncovered must be included.

That's all. Hope this helps.

The picture of system rule hasn't been enforced in years for general submissions. There are spot checks for proof occasionally, and some contests they demand checks. It's a good habit to go back into your benchmate subs and post a picture, but I personally stopped doing it when they stopped enforcing it.

Yes at 1080p there isn't enough room for all the shit they want, so do your best, and expect that someone complains anyway. I've complained for years now that they need to allow larger file sizes for higher resolution displays to fit all of this crap. 2MB is a ridiculous limit for a server of the largest hardware enthusiast community.

You wanted and told me that this competition is to help prepare for the Team Cup, as well as serving to get our stuff together and teaching people how to make correct submissions. Well, I was just pointing out the correct way.

And yes, on my main rig I can fit the two CPU-Z and Benchmate and the Cinebench window uncovered because it's at 3440x1440. However, I have to submit manual submissions in jpg format, png will end up being too large. However, Bastiaan suggested to me to arrange the CPU-Z windows for Cinebench windows like I showed so the majority of the Cinebench window isn't covered at 1080p.

I had to use paint.net (my favorite free photo editing app lol) and save my screenshots as jpg. It let's you adjust the quality down a pinch, which at 95-97%, all my 4K screenshots went just fine.

I usually just use the new snipping tool, Windows key, Shift+S. Then it'll show a preview in the bottom right of the screen. Click it and you get the newer Paint/Image app, save from there. I'm pretty sure that it saves it as jpg by default.

On the note of editing things into the same post, can I link a gdrive sheet instead I think it will be a lot cleaner and i'm using one now to keep track of what I ran on which system
