Nope, I just double checked (you really had me wondering, I didn't even notice the options as I configured the graphics from the ingame settings, where I didn't see these toggles!)...

Goes to show how interchangeable they really are ;) For shits n giggles I'll load up that same scene in RT in a bit and add screenshots to compare!

Ahaha... the RT ON option seems to give me a black screen. Sound, but no image. Game doesn't crash. Lel

Here I am filling in for vayra. This is in mendoza, RT Low, RT High and SSR High, reflections only, no shadows, TAA off. (cropped so as to not reveal the mission objectives for spoiler reasons)

RT Low, RT High, SSR High, in that order (though you should be able to tell anyways).

thanks. no surprise to me RT looks better

How does RT lighting reflect on 47's bald head?
fun fact. the original Hitman: Codename 47 devs made him bald on purpose because they couldn't make his hair look realistic enough and they didn't want some ugly Lego hair look for him lol. that and they then come up with the iconic barcode on his noggin' idea, which obviously would be hidden if he had hair.

thanks to that decision, it has all ultimately lead up to the epitome of modern gaming graphics!
Funnily enough as you go up from SSR, to RT low (which does a lot of its tracing off of screenspace information, but still does some with offscreen rays) to RT High (which has much better coverage than low) you can see 47's mirror-shine polished head getting increasingly lit up as it better reflects the environment.

And they say RT is worthless.

Venice and Bartoli's Hideout are my two favourite levels in Tomb Raider II and they look stunning remastered.

Cities: Skylines, but on Epic Mega games. I have become a degenerate and want to try some mods, and on the Internet a pretty significant chunk says "can't be done if you're not on Steam" but it turns out installing mods manually is just plopping them into AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\mods and really? That's basically how you do it on Rimworld and heck even other Paradox titles, why is it considiered a hard thing to do for this game specifically?

The tyranny of stupidity man. People click for info, they don't discover.

This is slightly related but I desperately hate the Fandom wikis and if I had endless money I would buy the company and burn it to the ground and severely punish those who seek to and have succeeded in usurping good wikis. The Fandom shit is always the first result on Google, even if actual, better, wikis are avaliable!

Due to SEO of the fandom.com domain, even if that particular subdomain doesn't get a lot of traffic compared to a dedicated wiki site.

Played some Contraband Police. Runs ok on iGPU at low settings. Got bored though - can be repetitive.

Might try to get back into Rimworld.

Fired up Halo: ODST to break up my DX:MD run.

Woof, still pretty early but the game really feels like a slightly bloated Halo 3 expansion pack. Never really liked Halo 2/3's city levels, always preferred the mix of forerunner/halo ring biome environments so much more.

What I'm playing, is actually Halo 1x! There's one shader issue, which affects DeathIsland and Beavercreek on Arc. :(

Just 100%-ted Horizon: Zero Dawn.
And while the game has its share of problems (on all platforms), it's still pretty good.
TBH, I did not "get" the gameplay at all, even though I already beat the whole campaign with all side quests and errands (~70+ hours of gameplay), and blasted through NG+ on Ultra Hard in mere two sittings after work. While it looks cool on paper and in gameplay demos, it's a bit wonky and gets old after awhile(especially on Ultra Nightmare, where instead of having fun you have to die a couple of times to figure out the best strat, and spend lots of time micromanaging your weapons and ammo).
But the story - I liked it very much. Very well thought through, every aspect of it makes sense (including few things at the end, which I won't spoil).
Solid 4 out of 5 from me, definitely worth getting along with the sequel(which now I'm really excited to buy).

- HZD is a fantastic game, but not sure there is much to really "figure out" about the combat/gameplay. You scan enemies and learn their weaknesses, then hit the parts that are week to effect X with a weapon that causes effect X.

Hell you can usually get through most encounters using tearblast arrows to remove armor and weapons from machgines + hardpoint arrows to cause the actual damage.

The story is quite fun and the game does a great job building the mystery and the payoffs/lore revelations never feel like a cheap trick.

Playing Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 atm, pretty good

Remember to check out the great stuff here;
If you'd like a recommendation for a few really good modded campaigns, PM me and I help you find the links.
I started playing (officially) since October 17, 2014. ;)

You will see a bunch of Halo CE games that I recorded, on my YouTube channel. You probably will like December 31, 2015!

Actually nothing specific, but I rebought a Xbox 360 few months ago so I'm going to bump my gamerscore up with different titles. Currently playing Dirt 3 since IIRC I didn't play it nearly as much as I did on PC back in the day, just started a new savefile and on the first season.

For simple enemies - yes. And yeah, that's also one of the examples I don't get it. My first playthrough on normal that was pretty much all I've used, except fire/freeze/electric blasters in the Cut DLC later down the road. Maybe a few traps then and there. Other weapons just "exist" in my inventory until some hunting trial requires it. Basically it's playing Skyrim stealth archer build, but all the way through. Just as boring.

But for bigger ones on Ultra-nightmare - no. Most boss fights would easily eat through 2-3 quivers of both, and still impossible to beat without special weapons(machine guns, disk launchers etc.).
I already mentioned "micromanagement", so if you already know that in the story your next encounter is some big-ass robot, then everything turns into a monotonous chore, where you fast-travel or ride to the nearest hunting goods merchant, buy 100+ rope, some blaze and other canisters, craft max rope, max arrows of all types, and at minimum some traps of appropriate type, and make sure you have enough resources to build at least 2 more quivers of tear and hardpoint. In case of Behemoths even that might not be enough, so you definitely should tear its launchers off first, then do as much damage as you can with your weapons(preferably with triple-shots to make it faster), and at the end when it can only do melee attacks - pick up a disk launcher and kill it. Healing items are also critical, since all it takes is 1 or 2 hits to die. So, with perfect prep it takes you 10 minutes to get ready for a 3-minute fight.

Weaknesses also don't work that well on UltraHard. Big enemies that on lower difficulties were vulnerable, let's say, to cold in some cases recover wa-a-a-y faster than you can freeze them with a sling, and instead they take a full clip of iceblaster spray without misses (ice rockets only do damage, but almost zero freezing).

Stormbirds are probably the worst. Fortunately on UltraHard there's only one I need to kill during main questline. I came in fully stocked and by the end of the encounter I was left only with the type of ammo that doesn't work on it.

So, while challenging fights are fun and all, and some people enjoy "technical" and "strategic" side of it, it still requires a literal ton of resources and crafting time, and gets very old very quick.

And once again - simple enemies kinda remain the same for some reason. I can still kill a watcher with a single shot or kill a bunch of grazers with any fire projectiles in only a few seconds, or kill a few stalkers with their own mine launchers etc.etc.etc.

Weapon "handling" doesn't make sense, since my fully-upgraded purple power bow with at least +40% to handling frequently misses point-blank shots, but can hit a butthole of a badger from 100m no problem. Sometimes I can even see the arrow going through the enemy with no collision in slo-mo, which pisses me off even more.

Melee combat is so bad, I almost never use it throughout the game (except finishers on downed enemies). I think the only time I had to was the Shadow Carja boss fight, where I had to roll around, knock him down with a tear arrow and do one power hit with my staff. And repeat it 20 or so times, cause by then I simply ran out of my normal arrows killing archers just a minute earlier.

Mounted combat is even worse. Took me a good two dozen attempts to get an achievement for 5 dismount strikes, cause I always miss it for some reason. Shooting arrows is OK, but your mount's strikes barely do any damage. Broadhead can knock over some enemies, but other than that it's useless. And the whole riding mechanic is kinda wonky. I think I did my entire first playthrough on foot because of it (plus it's easier to explore this way), and only got used to riding on my last Ultra Hard playthrough. I use KB+mouse, so it may be easier on a controller.

Finished main story of Zenless Zone Zero in ~3 weeks. Finished Kaido Battle 1 just before that.
Now going through Kaido Battle : Chain Reaction and Kaido Legends on emulator while waiting for Early Access version of the new Shutokou Battle, and more reviews of Assetto Corsa Evo and Dynasty Warriors Origin (and a sale for this one).
I don't have a wheel and pedal setup here, only a good controller, so that might mean I will never touch Assetto Corsa Evo.

I just finished Dark Cloud on playstation 2, well not just finished, I even did the bonus end dungeon. 10/10, nostalgia held up very well on this one.

Now I am going to be playing Dark Cloud 2, and then Rogue Galaxy (this is actually Dark Cloud 3, but they changed the development and reach of it part way through and then changed the name). After that I have like 10 more playstation 2 games I want to play, its been a blast replaying them all in OLED upscaled

I finally reached High Security Compound in Tomb Raider III, where Lara is locked up and all her weapons confiscated.
I love how her fellow inmates become allies once she opens their cell doors and they go around beating up the guards who once disabled, release oversized key cards the size of magazines. It's hilarious!

A new story unfolds.

Tsushima story is done, time for Iki island

So does anyone know how to actually play Fallout New Vegas today? Steam version is buggy as shit, and what modding (the commong bugfixes and whatever) I've done didn't help. And I will under no circumstance do the commonly suggested Viva Las Vegas thing, because it's messing to much with the game, I want to play as close to vanilla as possible. What is really infuriating is that I have played through the game and the DLC before and I genuinely can't remember having a single major bug. I don't have that version any more though, because I own the game on Steam and Gog (which is equally buggy) I thought I wouldn't need it but here we are.
