Cool game. Honestly I had to at some point change the difficulty, could not cope with the opponents :p Still didn't finish it.

Huh, I didn't know it was them. I always turn off in-game music.
The bundle of 4 games including the horrid #3 was cheaper than just the single game.
Why do you turn off in-game music? Music is a core element of any game, just like its graphic design.

Maybe he wants to choose his background/in-game music or doesn't like background music in general.

Would you find it weird if people listen to in-game music without the gameplay/never played the actual game or watched a play-through on YouTube?

Yes it takes away from the experience, we are in an agreement here. But I think it's more common than we think (that people disable in-game music)

That sounds really strange to me. A good game is like a piece of art. I don't choose what the artist wanted to tell or what tools they wanted to use to tell it. What I choose is whether I'm enjoying it or not.

Not at all. I like listening to TES4: Oblivion soundtrack even 20 years after the game's release. Especially the track called King and Country. It's so peaceful and relaxing! :)

We have a thread here on the forum dedicated to game music we love.

I get that certain games have great in-game music but I prefer to hear the screaming (tires/victims/enemies) and other ambient noises. :D
Also most of the ingame music is on repeat, which I find annoying as fuck.

For certain games, yes. Modded radio list in GTA5, and Cyberpunk 2077. But no banjo in RDR, lol.

Well, if you only play racing games and online shooters, then I get it. :)

Because I like playing my games for a long time?
Yes I often listen TES 3, 4, 5 soundtracks (Jeremy Soule ) even while playing other games like Civilization IV with a friend on LAN for example, LOTR soundtrack as well.
That doesn't mean I can listen to the same in-game music for more than let's say 100 in-game hours, however good it is. It gets boring and repetitive, and it starts to detract from the atmosphere and gameplay experience, instead of adding to it, so I'd rather have clean ambient and effects sounds instead, like the person you responded to said.

I like music, and having extremely good hearing I can enjoy high quality music very much. But sometimes I don't listen music for months, as experiencing it all the time may impact my judgement, reading, critical thought and philosophical contemplation. The more you hear, the more emotional it becomes. Every special talent is a bit of a curse, having a good measure is a key point for most things in life.

Well, if it's multiplayer, skirmish or sandbox games, then I get it. I guess I only really meant single player story-based and atmospheric games. :ohwell:

Interestingly, I found the opposite. The more I listen to something, the more I know the lyrics and tune, the less emotional impact it has on me (except for songs with a deep nostalgia attached to them).

There is an inexplicable beauty in diversity of minds and all earthly creatures alike. Let's agree to disagree, as people say.

I don't intend to agree or disagree. I'm just sharing my point of view while learning about yours and other's. There is an inexplicable beauty indeed. :)

Hitman WoA trilogy. It's good, it's incredible what IOI achieved while their existence was at stake.

Yep. This is the shit. The sheer amount of content, DAMN. I am kinda missing the old safehouse structure where you could just pick up a bunch of guns and blast everything in any level to smithereens. Or is that still possible? Freelancer doesn't quite do it. Sniper Assassin is great fun, too, you really have to be fast sometimes.

Played a few story missions as well and man. They're all super immersive. You just feel James Bond immediately.

This surprises me too. I think you're really missing out man. So much game music just sucks me right in, much more than beautiful pictures do, very often.

What part of Nickelback didn't you understand. :p

Must not play many driving games. Much less this type of driving game. Complete dislocation of reality into the utter glee bumper-cars bring out in the average individual. The screaming (tires/victims/enemies) is probably going to establish a social divide the further we discuss this.

Linearity and pathing is very well done in games like Flatout or Asphalt8. Open world games of this caliber are harder to come by. Might just be starting to arrive.

Yes, you can still be a maniac, you simply either have to unlock a gun via location mastery or by getting your hands dirty. But streamers (not that I watch any) are proof that you can still gun down anything in sight if you so wished.

On the topic of hitman, it's great to see a game set in argentina, or part of it at least. (odd crop so as to hide mission objectives, though I'll still spoiler it just in case). I do wish that the npcs had argentinian accents, but it's fine, it was probably out of the budget and would only matter to argentinians (or uruguayans).

IOI did a great job with the trilogy, and it is well worth the asking price.
