Benchmark Scores bench ? no time to lose with bench ! :)
These Games get too hard. I am not 16 anymore so my timing is not what it was lol.
Not this one :)
Honestly, I found it almost easy, it's like the devs wanted everyone to enjoy it :)

The trailer seems more difficult than the game itself.

Completed Like a dragon infinite wealth with my partner. I would have given the game a 9/10 but I'm dropping it down to a 7/10 for reasons below.
The 2 final boss fight was a bit underwhelming compared to 7.
The part where ichiban takes Eiji to the police station was a great scene.
The post ending was a bit meh, I mean the whole ichiban and saeko relationship looks like it's going to be some running gag.
I was getting ready to get semi emotional when Haruka went to see kiryu and have the huge reunion.
But they left her waiting at his patient room while he gets taken to his chemo session.
That dropped it down by 1 point for me.

The other point drop is because they locked New game+ behind a paywall, which they apparently did it for 7 before they corrected it for the west release.
They have never done it before in any of their previous titles, I feel like Sega is just getting a bit greedy.

I was considering 100% achievement for infinite wealth because I enjoyed it but now I can't.
So the only way to have 100% unlocked all the achievements is to have either bought the deluxe edition(which if I knew I had to I would have bought it when it was on sale on steam and when I had steam voucher allowance) or buy the master vacation pack which is another £16.99 which I am not paying for just to have new game+ and the optional dungeon which is also a achievement requirement.

What is a Steam Voucher Allowance?

I wasn't overly thrilled with LaD (7) for similar reasons to paywall your spoiler listed. That and bizarre elements that built up to unrelentingly stupid amounts within Infinite Wealth. Really hoping RGG don't intend to stretch this formula out for a second set of seven games. Guess we wait and see what the upcoming release is like.

I was given £50 steam gift card for my birthday in November is what I meant by steam allowance. :)
I sure hope they don't do lock new game+ behind a paywall again. But something tells me it's Sega and not RGG that forced it. Probably one of the reasons why Nagoshi decided to leave.
They have improved a lot of the formula in Infinite wealth from 7 which I think it's worth picking up on a sale which is what we did.

I feel you so hard on this. I would love to play the Dark Soul games and Elden Ring just to explore the world building and environments. But with my skill, I barely get past the first boss usually and I don't have the time to brute-force these games and my reflexes are not what they used to be.

Really wish there was a "easy" or "story" mode on games that actually was EASY.
My saving Grace is Sim Racing and Strategy but I am stuck on that level in Star Wars. In that mission in Sleeping Dogs, trying to solve that puzzle in Everspace 2 and trying to get the fastest time on one of those crazy tracks in Redout 2. I have been Gaming since I was 7. I had a PC at 10, Atari at 12 and bought my SNES at 18. The PS was that good. Highlights are Colony Wars and Gran Turismo. That is where I discovered the Green hell and Bathrurst.

Nothing much really in the last 3+ months. Genshin Impact and Civilization IV with a friend on LAN. Trying out the Realism Invictus mod (finally), and ngl, it's a work of art.

I'm ancient and slow too... :D You can play Elden Ring. Read up on what builds are suited for less combat skilled players. Magic is a great way to go. I almost finished the game just by arming myself with knowledge :) its still not super easy and you will fail, but you will also discover how to succeed. Also, it was an absolute blast, too, and you will eventually learn the ropes of combat, timing correctly, the game does ease you into it much better than Dark Souls. Another big thing to know is that there is a moment for every encounter. If you keep getting oneshot, its probably not time yet. The game also allows you to farm, so you can get early levels easy, spend your currency safely, and you can do this for quite a while before diminishing returns make it grindy. Being open world, you can always go back to a safer place you know to gather the last souls you need for a level as well, without losing them on a boss.

After that, your body is probably ready enough to try and tackle Dark Souls 3.

I don't really buy games other than when on sale, and usually just the winter one since I usually take vacation around the holidays and therefore have some time to play some games. So I end up getting a few during the holiday sale

Contra: Operation Galuga. Classic Run 'n gun has returned!

Iron Meat. Another classic run 'n gun style, maybe even better than the new Contra. Absolutely excellent for an indie game. Dev says more will be added too! The art style and soundtrack is killer. Highly recommend this game!
1736186603244.jpeg

The Hotel
. Indie survival horror. Obvious RE and SH influences here. Play as two characters in separate play throughs a little like RE2 Leon and Claire. This was a one man game, does have some jank and cheese but I would def recommend this to fans of the genre.
1736186684105.jpeg

Broken Pieces. A decent puzzle and adventure game. The combat is kind of lame and is not very engaging. Some other cool mechanics though. You play each day from 8am to 8pm, and if you're out of your house beyond 8pm enemies go nuts....or so I hear, I never tested the theory lol. This really makes you plan stuff since traveling to different sections of the map burns in game time. I also liked there was a button to swap between a main and a secondary angle for every camera angle. Though they are fixed, some are a little dynamic. This helped puzzle complexity since some clues or solutions couldn't be seen or found unless you were using a certain view angle. Further, you can create storms and change seasons from summer and winter which effects environment and puzzles, makes for good puzzle hunting!

Assassin's Creed Mirage. This was as good as Odyssey and Valhalla, with exception it was rather short to my expectations. Normally these latest AC games are at least double in length. I never gave a crap about the sci-fi stuff so I don't miss the "real world" sections, which this game had none of. Just wish it was longer because of the expectations set by previous games. Otherwise it was still a good story regardless. The game play push into stealth was good too, even though I always opted to be stealthy in previous games whenever possible.

also adding Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. If you are into Commandos, Desperados, Shadow Tactics, or the RTT in general this is one to check out. Haven't beaten it but so far seems a little easier than ST and Desperados, but has a much higher emphasis on the story. Still an excellent game from the Mimimi team.....though I hear they are gone now. So, only time will tell if some other dev team will fill this void of giving us good RTT games in the vein of the original Commandos.

I feel like I've been playing Tomb Raider Remastered Unfinished Business for decades because I kept getting lost in all the twists and turns. But the end is in sight.
Anyway, here's Lara taking a well earned rest on the molten floor, poor lass.

Just finished the good old Quake II (PC - GoG Enhanced Version).
A bit less of 7 hours of entertainment !
Love the game, finished back then, but only remember some passages, so it was like a (re)discovery :)
Level design is excellent (in this version there is a "compass" to show you the way ... can't remember if it was already here in the original game, but it's a welcome addition),
weapons feels so good, it's fast and strafing is the key to survive.
It's really close to a Doom experience.
Did you know ? The Quake II music's theme was done by Rob Zombie !
For the fun, I've tried the RTX version, but my 6750XT suffered a lot. I could do some tweaks and get a better framerate, but the render did not impress me so much, so back to the "normal" version.

Quake II- Version Date_ Oct 24 2023 (Vulkan) 30_12_2024 18_41_19.png

In some area, in looks like a mix between Doom and the 1st Quake.

Quake II- Version Date_ Oct 24 2023 (Vulkan) 04_01_2025 19_15_29.png

You can almost count the the polygons here !

Quake II- Version Date_ Oct 24 2023 (Vulkan) 08_01_2025 20_00_14.png

Near the end, a labyrinth experience, the compass is very welcome here.
