It's pretty good. I already did 2 playthroughs: original and adventurer. Original mode requires you to avoid fear and darkness, plus it has occasional enemies that may get you every once in awhile, but are easy to avoid. Adventurer mode has none of that, but it has few more puzzles.
If you played SOMA and liked it - this one is even better.
I also bought The Bunker on sale, but haven't played it yet.
I actually do have SOMA but haven't played that as well. Aren't the Penumbra games similar? I have also them and I remember trying Black Plague and liked that.

Yes and kinda.
Gameplay-wise it's similar throughout all frictional games titles, but the setting and story is different. I also have all Penumbra games, followed the project since the very first tech demo release (even did a localization for it as a weekend project). If you like puzzle adventures and horror games - you should definitely play all of them.

Just let me survive from the hangover I'll be getting from these beers I'm having now, I could start from Penumbras after that. :)

Started playing Manor Lords. I hate buying "Early Access" but this one is pretty far along and is "Platinum" on the Steam Deck. Runs great and is a lot of fun if you like RTS city building/domination games. It has a lot more development in progress but still worth it on sale.

But that's the best way to play horror games :D

I remember back in college we used to hang out at my classmates house. And believe it or not, on the new year's eve, we've decided to test drive his DIY 2.1 sound system with big-ass sub by playing a recently released F.E.A.R. We've already downed several liters of moonshine by that point. So, the first couple of intervals went well, with few jumscares now and then, but once we got to the "blood corridor", he flipped backwards off the chair as soon as Alma jumped out.
BTW, another awesome game series worth replaying.

Anyways, happy new year everyone!:toast:

Played some Lord of the Rings Return to Moria and in the introduction the performance is horrible. Starfield runs better.

Last week I "finished" Dredge, and it's a really solid little game. In fact I have to go back and actually finish it (as in find all the stuff not in the "main" quest) just to find out more about it. It's really quite good.

Made me remember I rigged two stereo speakers, the other one connected to rear channel to simulate surround, when the door slam shut on rear speaker on this game made me turn my head around, this game does use EAX it's one of the games that have good positioning audio. Good times :D

I been replaying Half Life 2 on my retro PC (yes, the original 2004 release) for that year the facial animation is top notch even by today standard.

I just bought the Indiana Jones game because of the hardware requirements. With supreme and ultra settings was getting a solid 55-60FPS at 3840x2160 with no upscaling.

Kind of kicking myself for not getting Stalker, but that will be my next game.

God, I miss the AI system in FEAR. It was not that advanced by itself but really good map design and a few clever behavioral tricks made it formidable in practice (enemies faked attacks on you while actually flanking/ambushing you, etc). I wish more games with linear levels used the work that Monolith did for this game.

I've just finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Man, what a wave of emotions!  I can't remember the last time I cried at the ending of a game. Easily 10/10.

Although, my mum's sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 58 just two months ago might have swayed my perception a bit. Maybe I played this game a bit too soon? :(

Condolences on your loss. I don't know your situation but I personally think you played it at exactly the right time. My grandmother passed away from a chronic condition while I was halfway through Life is Strange and the ending of that game helped me with my grief long-term.
