Hey, i really need help here.

I wont waste your time so heres the resume:

>I m a graphic designer, and my GPU was having problems with Photoshop. (But i never experienced any problem with any game)

>I was so tired of it, that i decided to start my PC with the HDMI cable connected to the motherboard, so the PC wont use the GPU but the integrated graphics instead (so i could work without any problems in photoshop)

> The plan worked, and at the end of my day i just reconnected back the HDMI to myu GPU so i could play

>I had a very heavy week of work and didnt connected the HDMI to the GPU for a week

> Then, when i finally did, the PC didnt even recognised the GPU.

> I try to reinstall the GPU drivers (using DDU) but thats when everything when to sh*t lol

> The PC crashed every time i tried to install the drivers

> Then the PC wasnt able to even reach the Windows menu

> And now my screen just goes black after the bios screen

> I tried all the tricks in the book of troubleshooting but nothing worked

> I tried turning the PC on with the secondary BIOS selected (its a DUAL BIOS GPU and u can change it with just a switch) but that do anything

> I try another GPU on my PC to see if something were wrong with my Motherboard but everything worked just fine

So... yeah, i dont know what else can i do. I even updated motherboard's bios, but nothing.

I really need my GPU to work so i would really appreciate some help.

Mi PC Specs are:

ASUS B450M-PRO GAMING
Ryzen 3400G
24 Gigs of RAM

ASUS Dual AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Standard Edition

I suggest a Power supply with higher current on the +12V line.

Also change thermal grease on gpu die, give it a dusting.

Do you think that can really fix the problem? I mean, the GPU worked perfectly for a whole year with that PSU. Never had any issue with it.

Check out the two solutions to the issues I was having. Experienced very similar "fail to boot" problems like yours after a corrupt Windows from GPU crashing the system. Needed to reinstall Windows using W11 23H2 on USB (not the current 24H2). Also needed to check power input on the GPU (if it's dual or single).

Ok so i tried the different cable thing but nothing happened. I'm now trying the ecore disable advice.

It's crazy to me how the GPU can get into the bios without any issue or showing any artifact but it cant get to Windows lol

I was waiting for tomorrow morning to note my issues. You have confirmed to me that my issue is not unique. I am at the point where everything works, including the monitor but there is no picture. The Cable or port does not matter. I tried everything I could think of and was at a total loss until my laptop told me that the driver had timed out on my AMD driver. My laptop has a 3060 though. I even installed the oldest version of Windows I could find but once 24H2 got installed the problems started over. I could Game boot the the all day, but the minute I stop and am just browsing the desktop the screen will go black. I had to hard boot the PC and Device Manager would sometimes show Code 22 but other times Code 31. I have switched out every component. I even took a Boot drive from one of my other PCs and that worked until 24h2 gets installed and the loop repeats itself. It is to the point where I am going to install another board and see what happens.

Check Device manager for your Display Devices and right click on the GPU to get Properties.

Ok, i was able to boot it in safe mode with internet on. Try to instal the drivers but it wasnt possible. Then i was able to boot it normally but the screen went off synch shortly after.

I will now try to update the GPU BIOS to see if that fixes anything

Check Device manager for your Display Devices and right click on the GPU to get Properties.
It basically says "Device status not available" and it doesnt let me update it

If you can get a copy of AMD Software installer in your downloads folder keep it. Get DDU on a flash drive and install it. Remove everything. I used Revo Installer to remove anything left over. Then reinstall AMD software.

Welp after hours and hours trying. I have been able to boot to Windows normally, but the PC keeps crashing when installing the drivers.

I updated the GPU BIOS, i disabled MPO and tried a lot of stuff but nothing seems to work

Little update:

> I tried undervolting the GPU before installing the drivers, but i wasnt able. (I tried con Afterburner, if you know any other tool to use lmk)

> I made a fresh windows install in another drive and try to use the GPU there. Is also crashed when installing the drivers

If you have any other idea lmk :(

Clear CMOS. That's a sketchy looking system RAM configuration.

whats Sketchy about it? and sure let me try that
The fact that it is DDR4 and 24GB, meaning that's some mixmatch cattywampus engineering going on with that build. Clear CMOS will unbork your BIOS settings so that you might be able to get your OS fixed.

Yes, but they all share the same speed, so i think it should be good (?)

It would be nice if the world worked like that, but we live in a place where you can have different ICs, different, numbers of chips on the sticks, different rank configurations, and such that can wreak havoc on your memory controller and thus corrupt your OS.

Thus Clearing CMOS will at least get them all at JEDEC SPD, which is where you must start.
