AMD Radeon 6800xt crashes computer, no video out, when playing demanding game.

My PC keeps crashing when I am playing a demanding game. But not a regular crash where it just closes the game. The game shuts down but also I lose all video out. I can see the PC is on and still drawing about 150 watts after the crash. It is still on, yet unusable, the only solution I have found is a restart which works for a bit.

This has only started happening recently and wasn't a problem before in the same title (GoW Ragnarok). The crash seems to happen about 45 minutes into playthrough out of nowhere. Temps are fine, it is not overheating.

Yeah its a lenovo system, the oems tend to lack required cooling

Temps are fine, it is not overheating.

Since cooling and power supply are both adequate, it's time to get to diagnostics.

Download BlueScreenView and see if there are any entries related to "dxgmms2.sys", "dxgkrnl.sys", "amdkmdag.sys" or "aticfx64.sys"

If they are present and coincide with the time you have experienced the full system freezes, it can help narrow down the root cause, but if there are none, it doesn't matter either.

1. Do you know if this problem is specific to the game you are trying to run?
2. If no, have you run a RAM test to see if your RAM is fine? Sometimes, GPU drivers can crash because of unstable system memory. Try Passmark Memtest86 for about 4 hours and see if it passes.
3. On the same vein, if the RAM test passes, try running sfc /scannow followed by dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth on a command prompt as admin and reboot
4. If yes, do you have any software that could potentially cause a conflict that would result in a blue screen? Overlays usually tend to cause simple crashes.
5. Do you have any settings changed in the AMD control panel? Such as Radeon Anti-Lag, Boost, Chill, etc. - If you have, please return them to factory default settings.
6. If nothing worked so far, uninstall the Radeon drivers using AMD's own Cleanup Utility (bundled with the installer, or you can find it at their website) and do a clean reinstall
7. If it still occurs, AMD may have broken their drivers in some way. It's not uncommon, as they have very poor QA. Regressing to an earlier driver version may be a band-aid fix.

I want to see volts and current output to the motherboard and gpu.

Also remove and reinsert the card and atx/pcie connectors, also make sure you have 2 lines going to the gpu, not a pig tail off of 1 line.
