I skimmed this, but I like the presentation - not too dumbed-down but not too OTT "I know lots of PSU stuff, which may or may not help anyone choose a PSU".

Is there an introduction to the reviewer anywhere? Just a brief resume so we can get a feel for approach/interests/previous experience/ability to set the instruments correctly (you'd be surprised of the stuff I've encountered!).

You're not blind - I can't see it too. Also I didn't find it in some other recent PSU review.
CWT's new CTT platform, also it's 3.1 not 3.0 in OP thread (review is accurate with 3.1)

Was it using the cases flow to run passive or was on a separate circuit?

Some supplies take air from below the case and exhaust it without in any way involving the main case flow, others connect to the case and so can use case flow when they are running passive.

looking at the test procedure it's on a test bed rather than in a case but "case flow" would be relying specifically on the Case PSU shroud or I am not following your question?

Ah, not connected to a computer, just the flow in a hot box.

My bad.

I wonder how the efficiency curve is for 1 to 100 Watts on the output. (yes computers do idle from time to time)
That 5% Value for the efficiency table looks worse.

Efficiency and the noise level are very dissapointing

Noise 41.0 dBA max

Are you measuring some background noise? Should the device unter test not be much quieter with no Fan spinning?

When checking POWER (DC / AC) - it makes sense that the output direct current has lower watts than the input alternating current watts.

But

For Temp (in / Out)
it seems the table is reversed. How should the temperature be cooler when going out of the device unter test as the temperature going in the device under test?

I prefer if those values in ( ... ) are in the same writing style.
e.g. Value name ( upper value / lower value)

looks accurate, he's testing in a hot box so the out will probably remain lower until you break 50%+
in fact cybentics had similar results with the unit 45/40c @ 10%

Where is the noise coming from if the fan is not spinning?
electrical hum from all the test equipment most likely

AFAIK the reviewer is new to TPU. we've been through a small handful of them in the last year or so unfortunately. If @suvirintojas would like to introduce himself. It would be down to him.

Maybe put it in the TPU suggestions thread for a page on TPU that has reviewer introductions.

I've been looking at high end PSUs for next 10y and this might be it. First one to feature Fan Failure Protection.

The C1500 is named Platinum because of its 80 PLUS rating. But it's Titanium in the Cybenetics rating that uses over 1450 different load combinations to calculate its ratings vs a handful for 80 PLUS which can be inaccurate.

I've just installed it today, great stuff!

list your system spec please, and have you tested your C1500 - OCCT , like HWINFO64 , are you using USA 115v or UK 230v , would like to compare my C1500 to yours , thanks and look forward to seeing some benchmarks.

Review misses one thing out - lots of bulk caps but no hold up time testing.

How is such testing done? If one cuts the mains at a peak the primary capacitor will have more energy than if one cuts the mains at a lower point.

Measuring the hold-up time is a dangerous procedure since you have to connect an oscilloscope to the main grid. Unless you are taking the right precautions, you never want to do this; it's dangerous and you could harm yourself and your equipment!

hes been here posting reviews for over a year although W1zzard said he was leaving so this review may have been in the pipeline for a bit and it's his last one
