testing ram 3600 1.35v in pc with 2400 1.2v-DDR4

I think the 3600 stick is shorted and wont post in ryzen pc. previously I took it out to check the model number. I didnt install it back properly. so it sat at a slight angle and pc wouldnt post. tried to reinsert and boot, nothing. tried removing bios battery, reinserted and still the same.


can I install it on an i7 6700 mb/pc to test if its ok?

RAM doesn't run XMP unless specifically told to do so by the user.

Yes, of course it should boot up the boards JEDEC default memory speeds, no matter what board you put it in.

Clear cmos first.

Memory is weird in the way it fails. Sometimes, nothing but errors, others, just plain stops working.

You could try cleaning the contact pads if they look not like gold but copper. Maybe just needs a cleaning.

DDR4 to drop? Maybe a few dollars, not sure if it's worth waiting for honestly. Few bucks a kit?

They may not run at 3600MHz on a 6700 though, I had to run my DDR4-3600 sticks @ 3000MHx with 6700K. With 8600K they run fine at 3600MHz.
