Hmmm like (I don't the type but) Like those bottom/rear pins to Add like extra RAM or whatever just always interest me and why no one bothered to add

Ram modules were were typically on the right side and with S3 they were up-gradable from 0.5MB to i think 1MB, as some one else posted the ATI card the board attached to it is a memory addon board, All so Matrix did one too which attached on the right side and if memory serves clipped in like laptop memory does.

There was another style that look like large isa contacts like how the Crossfire Cards were

When you said the "rear" I thought you actually meant the rear, not the front face under the shroud if they had one.
Some GPUs had pin connectors on the rear and I have often wondered about them too.
