Just a hunch I'm not about to see the 24H2 patch for multiples games from them nor a spectacular Deep Dip Trois. I have to wonder if actually cash rich American or Japanese investors will take the day.

Who knows, maybe the entire Assassin's Creed series lands on GOG and that awful yearly contract for Trackmania disappears. Immediate fire sale on anything that can still be considered of worth incidentally righting some consumer malice. Pulling themselves out of a deep watery grave by displaying exactly what put them on the map to start with.

There’s no one left except for Tencent who would be able and willing to bail them out as they are now. So it’s either that or go the THQ route by dissolving and holding a fire sale on their IPs.
And yes, theoretically they can avoid such outcomes by righting the ship themselves, but they’ve been failing for so long it just doesn’t seem likely.
But who knows, maybe AC Shadows will turn out to be a smash hit and sell a bajillion copies or something and that will protract the agony for a while. Unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

AC Shadows... lel. That game committed seppuku before it even got out on the battlefield. By Ubisoft itself no less. Its like... just stfu and all would have been fine. 'The game is delayed because we're polishing it' Done. But no...

As for AC landing on GoG... myeah, I've played so much of that I'll probably never want to again. But stuff like GR Wildlands? Yes please. Anno? Same. M&M X? Neat.

The problem is, the half of those games are broken by design without Ubisoft patching out the few dozen ties with their services. M&M X takes the cake, even the Steam version won't work properly without calling in to Ubisoft servers to fix an intentional bug in the code that prevents you to continue. That's right. I ran into that after several hours in the game, and it was the final straw for anything from this company. They're absolute, disgusting, gutter trash.

Wasnt there a lot of reports saying that Ubi are staffed by junior developers who are so inexperienced that havent even released their first game before?

I think Ubi are beyond saving. They've sold out their integrity, their brand and brand name and they have nothing else left to fall back on.

Controversies about their new games aside. Im not expecting anything great to come from them even if they have delayed it.

They need to sell off their IP or start licensing it out to other studios who might do some great work with it. Imagine if Ghost Recon was licensed out to a studio who took it back to its origins.

Less said, the better off everyone will be... unless you have memes from internal channels. :p

Pulse is getting erratic.

Not altogether surprising to announce laying off people responsible for something as damaging as AAAA game. Nor is it the first time Ubi has drastically altered playable characters at what appears to be the last second.... future prognosis is still very much undecided. Only as good as your last work etc.

Got sources we can laugh about? I don't generally scour the web to learn more about Ubisoft :D

Sources or editorializing outrageous eye catching ideas with a lifespan as low as they aim to hit?
I'm all for good humor even in less than ideal circumstances. That seems to be in low supply currently.

My flavor of humor is realy, REALLY heavy irony. Mainly the news that apparently AC shadows has watermelons in the game. A fruit that Japan did not have at the time.

Gee, why-ever were those added? SURELy this multicultural team of multi ethnidicinal coexistent peace sandals knew better than to use damaging stereotypes right?.......right?

Ubisoft is beyond cooked, it's charred and smoking. Why it hasnt been thrown out the windows boils down to the scientific interests of the stockholders as to how far you can dig below the bottom of the barrel. I heard they'r ebringing in Elon's boreing company to go even deeper.

Thank you for clarifying a broad direction that was quietly avoided because it falls outside the aims of this site. Namely editorializing outrageous eye catching ideas that...
...dig below the bottom of the barrel.

Perfectly fine with nobody else caring to discuss Ubi as a microcosm/snapshot of gaming business. Very few had interest in Deep Dip II (Trackmania) that ended up being the surprise highlight of last year for racing games.

A snapshot of the gaming business, I don't know about that entirely. I like to make the divide between triple A (and wannabe triple A) content and the rest. Once you make content for the triple A segment, the game is pretty much going to the background - it becomes a hollywood production, carefully curated and molded to fit all the corporate metrics, unoriginal, uninspired, and 'supposedly safe' in terms of political weight, or purposefully 'controversial' which generally means some skirt is shorter than you'd expect somewhere and we're supposed to go all 'ooh aah' about it. That watermelon that was mentioned might be that thing here. Just the fact that it makes no sense and symbolizes something used recently is enough, the marketing team is happy. Outrage and camp mentality inspiration? Check.

The funny thing is all those corporate strategies are known, localized and targeted by the gamers these strategies are supposed to target. Its good fun. We're just trolling corporate management, if you think about it, and I think people know this. At the same time, you see genuine awe and instant cult status when games DO manage to surprise, to deliver, and when developers do listen to their audience and make something really nice that people really ask for. Those games almost sell themselves.

Its a bit like corporate tries to be your super cool dad who talks street talk with you, but nobody really wants that kind of a cool dad, they just want one they can trust to give and guide them through some real content in life. 'Please dad, just act normal, ffs'
