Only if we're talking some M$ Flying Simulator or any other insanely CPU demanding game (or gaming at lowest possible settings to max a high refresh rate display out). In everything else, the 7900 XTX will be your bottleneck.

Most games you don't have to worry expect like flight simulator and heavier cpu demanding games @Macro Device talks about.

Like @Ruru says balanced pair will be fine for 4K most games ain't that cpu demanding.

I am looking for the RX 7900 GRE maybe XT if I can get the models I want they are really good cards, even I would love to get a RX 9070 XT but I am not sure if I can wait until March if this is true and if it's a paper launch like Nvidia maybe summer :(

I want to get back to AMD because I am tired of Nvidia and their bad drivers I had experienced the last couple of months even I know the last game was the game.

On Windows, it's roughly equally bad for both parties. I had my AMD driver die more than twice this year. And it's, y'know, only January.

On Windows, it's roughly equally bad for both parties. I had my AMD driver die more than twice this year. And it's, y'know, only January.

My AMD experience on this matter has been far better.

The last 3-6 months with my Nvidia with my Asus GeForce RTX 4070 Dual OC I had bad drivers, event logs over things like igpu being enabled, gaming suddenly just close without anything in the event viewer even after installing Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC to get rid of all MS' bloat.

Right now I am on my Sapphire Radeon RX 590 Nitro+ Special Edition with Radeon-DL custom drivers since AMD stopped the support and wow no event logs, no game crashing or something like even my Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus run better. (I am not a fan boy expect for some of Sapphire's cards, but I still buy the model not the brand that's why took the Dual from Asus it's a small card compare to others and was running great until drivers kicked me).

Sure the RT and power savings are better but Nvidia refuses to play nice with control centers for igpu on desktop is still a mystery for me, and i actually do miss the AMD Adrenaline software and Sapphire's Trixx which is the reason why I want to go back not sure if it's being RX 7900 GRE or XT because it looks like it will be more than properly 2 months from now before the RX 9070 XT will be available.

Here I am talking about the general stock availability for purchase that the normal person can get their hands on with when scalpers and bots ain't taking it on to sell on for 50-100% price bump.

Yes and no. It depends on what you're doing. If it's gaming, it'll depend on the game. You may actually be CPU and GPU bottlenecked in the same game! But don't worry about it. This is a great pairing.

There have been plenty of leaks of cards already being at retailers, and AMD have mentioned that stock shouldn't be an issue at launch. Finger crossed it should be a smooth launch regarding stable drivers / game support.

Depends because there isn't "unlimited" stock plus it's been seen before that online shop crashes because of traffic and such.

What Proshop did with the RTX 50 series wasn't cool but I guess Nvidia doesn't care and properly don't stop it because they earn money that's what counts.

Leaks and estimating are things but some leaks suggest that AMD is looking into the driver's to maybe make their cards use more power to boost performance.

No one knows expect people at AMD and they don't talk and a lot of retailers are pissed to be frank to have cards in stock and then get told to keep them for over 1 month before you can sell them.

I am still wondering which card to get since I came here the RX 7900 GRE and the XTX is half the price of the RTX 5080 and don't really use RT so I might go with that

RX 7900 GRE and the XTX
No idea what's on your market but in Russia, the former is a total waste. XTX is only a third more expensive, and far more powerful.

I only want Sapphire branded cards and every used card I see are like RX 7800 XT which I don't want for 1440p gaming.

The only RX 7900 GRE that's for sale on the used market here is the Pure version looks good but the seller stopped talking really annoying.

I am currently in central Europe and the price difference between RX 7900 XT and XTX Pulse is like £213 I am just tempered going with the XTX since I owned XFX' Merc319 of the RX 7900 XT fine performance but that design and model wasn't me a really long card and sometimes noisy under load.

Also to add that the 7900 XTX might also be faster en 3DMark which could also mean in gaming except RT performance: https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-...ering-faster-performance-than-rtx-4080-super/

I also heard that FSR4 will come to RDNA3 but not at launch maybe this is what AMD is also working and want FSR4 to be available for the 7000 series.

In general anything AM5 is fine with the 7900XTX at 4K but if you want a specific game you should do a research for that game.

This is with 4090 but it shouldn't be much of a difference
On avg an R5 7600/7600X is within a 5% of the 9800X3D at 4K.

The problem is that the basic reason i need a new built is to play cities skylines 2 which is cpu demanding and it needs more than 8 cores. The other choices is 7900 x3d which costs 100 euros more to buy it(630),9900x which costs 460 euros and 9950x which costs 680 euros. Is there a better choice than 7950x?
