Does DLSS draw more power?

When I activate DLSS option in many games, the fps increases substantially. Is that because DLSS draw more power or it decrease the gpu calculation intensity? Does it increase the load on GPU processor? Can someone clarify please?

It lowers the render resolution - that's it.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

A better question is : Does dlss at 100% render res (dlaa) look better than dlss at 66% render res (dlss quality) ? Yes, dlaa looks better than dlss quality.

You have a 3080 why not just try it yourself. It's a very subjective thing that comes down to which is worse to you the downsides of DLSS or the downsides of TAA.

Typically power draw is the same or margin of error assuming the gpu is at 100% load.

The thing is anyone who needs the extra performance is gonna use DLSS and anyone who doesn't is going to use DLAA there really is no reason if you have a GeForce card to stick with TAA anymore vs either regardless.

I actually did but could not find a difference in consuming power. Don't know how this dlss tech gives me more fps though.

DLAA is going to give you slightly lower performance but look better
DLSS Q is going to render the game at 66% and then upscale it to 100% typically giving you 20-30% more performance assuming you are gpu limited.

If you running uncapped frame rate I expect power to be very similar, might be bit higher due to the DLSS processing.

If capped framerate e.g. 60fps, power draw should drop noticeably. If using frame gen, it can lower load on CPU too.

DLAA is probably the best modern way to deal with trash TAA at the moment.
