Immortals of Aveum deserves a second chance, the new free demo has convinced me.

I started this game up a couple days ago, not sure if it was game updates/patches, or the new AMD drivers, or AMD chipset drivers, but this game is completely flawless now. Not a single drop in frames on my sig rig. When I originally played the demo it had horrible fps spikes on rare occassion, but those are completely gone 100% its been smooth the entire time. I really like the story so far too, reminds me of Brandon Sanderson's books. lol

Having way more fun than I expected. Looks incredible at native 1440p when I turn off upscaling which is on by default. Actually jaw dropping game once you do that and can run it at high refresh Ultra.

This game is probably going to end up being my personal game of the year unless Dawntrail wows me, which it probably will since I am a FFXIV fanboy. I don't think this is the type of game I would enjoy on Steam Deck, it def benefits from a nice higher end big screen/high refresh.

Just an fyi, Humble Bundle this month has Aveum and a bunch of other great games. I think all of them look great, definitely looking forward to Griftlands and Total War Pharaoh too.

I love patient gaming for this reason. A lot of diamonds in the rough get passed over just because they were released at the wrong time or the zeitgeist wasn't where the game's tone was.

Something tells me Immortals was a miss at $70, but will be a lot of fun if I pick it up for $10 in the next sale.

Humble Bundle is like $11 I think, why not just get it now and get all those other games with it? I'm playing Griftlands right now, its got a strong learning curve, but its a pretty fun card game so far. Fabledom looks like a hidden gem, but I haven't tried it yet.

I know a lot of players love HB, so I'm not trying to make waves saying this. My only issue with HB is they usually have just one game in a bundle I like, and even though the price is cheap, I just am not at all interested in the other games. It would be lot better IMO if it cost a bit more, and you could pick and choose 1 or 2 other games from a more comprehensive list that doesn't include only cell shaded, cartoony, or isometric games, none of which I have any interest in.

-A heck of a deal for the collectors, but I only buy games I actually have a clear and present interest in playing. It's kept my library at a rather manageable 300 games over the last 20 years of Steam (With ~175 of those games completed).

Call me weird but I'd rather get just Immortals for, say, $7 than get Immortals and 5 games I have no interest in for $11.
