Completely sold out of 5090s for at least 4 weeks.

They don't even offer 4090 and 4080 systems anymore: https://www.ibuypower.com/gaming-pcs/prebuilt-gaming-pcs?Video+CardNVIDIA=GeForce+RTX+4090,GeForce+RTX+4080

They do have 2 4080 Super systems but again sold out.

Looking at Dell's website there are a mere two systems that offer* a 4090: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/scr/desktops/appref=nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-video

Except one of those two doesn't anymore (the Alienware), so really only 1 systems.

As we all know 4000 series production has stopped and the websites you yourself cited prove that. The only remaining stock are leftovers or undesirable systems (like those going for a whopping $8,000 USD on newegg)
I ordered an AORUS 5090 XTREME WATERFORCE for $2550, and the store I bought it from told me I should get it around Mid-March, so that sounds about right.

What’s your point, that DIY isn’t low priority?

Nothing high end for AMD either. They must be limiting supply to drive up prices, right?

AMD high end cards started selling out due to the lack of supply in the market. Nvidia cards sold out because Nvidia cut production and because supply is low, both of which have been confirmed by Nvidia themselves.

There's concrete evidence of the latter despite you trying to pretend otherwise.

To point out the falsehoods in your argument, that's the point.

You are changing the goalposts, this is what you originally said:

Ibuypower will get you a 5080 or 5090 system in three days.

I never touched on the 5080, only commented on the 5090.

You cannot in fact get a 5090 system in three days, that was completely false.

Then you should have no problem providing a reputable citation.

Great, in the meantime the market has to grapple with a GPU shortage completely fabricated by Nvidia.

There is basically no 5000 series stock and because Nvidia decided to stop 4000 series production, the prices of last gen cards has shot up. The 4090, 4080, 7900 XTX, 7900 XT are sold out but even if you do find them in stock their prices are significantly higher than they were a few months ago.

Nvidia screws over gamers again.
2 out of the 4 models you mentioned are not nvidias. You are suggesting that Nvidia ordered amd to stop producing the xtx and the xt?

I don't care. If I need an upgrade I'll still buy AMD. Nvidia has been disrespectful to its customers for too long.
We know, people want nvidia to compete so they buy amd cheaper.

True, but there are so many scalpers doing it that its hard to get enough supply. Not saying there is enough but I am just saying that there are loads of scalpers doing this.

4090 was being bought up like crazy for AI purposes, 5090 is getting same treatment. Nvidia is allocating where they are getting more money. I doubt the bricking issue is the reason for supply chain problems otherwise they would have held back the release. I mean right now the 4090 was still above everything else so they didn't need to release anything.

It makes no sense to buy a 4090 or 5090 to use with an LLM or ML generally.

If people are doing that, it won't last long because you can rent the proper Enterprise H100, A100 and other hardware dirt cheap now, prices been falling for ages.

Not to mention, deepseek and other models run on Epyc or AMD GPU as well. You can set a server up with 1TB of ram for less than the cost of a 5090.

All they need to do is use Google and compare the cost.

Once 5080 and 90 are in stock in volume, my guess is prices will fall pretty quickly.

MY question is, if 4000 production was shut off months ago and 5000 is on the same node, where is the production at?

They rushed the launch which is evident by the production dates, Der8auer/GN and I suppose a few others covered it. So stock levels should improve moving forward, but it remains to be seen how 5090 stock levels shape up.

Let me quote for you what they said:

Demand was so high buyers took down their website. No amount of stock is going to make a difference

Some amount of stock would mean they would at least take pre-orders. The stock levels for this launch are lower than any launch that I can think of in the past decade. And you quoted the first five words from an article while completely ignoring the rest of the article which even states that their total 5090 stock was in the single digits.

Ibuypower will get you a 5080 or 5090 system in three days.

They cannot get you a 5090 system in three days..or in a month. Right now they don't even have the 5090 as an option from the configurations that I see. This is some level of deflection, why are you even trying to defend nvidia here?

Also there's no point in bringing AMD stock levels in this whatsoever. 7900xtx pops up once in a while, the lower ones are slightly better and it's evident from the trackers. It's normal for stock levels to be low for a product that's almost at the end of it's life so I don't even get what the issue is. You can also buy other prebuilts with them but no point in bringing up specific retailers either. This is all really petty.

Edit: Looks like this child put me on the ignore list after I schooled him in the last post about his misinformation regarding reference systems in a respectable way. Can I ask the mods to and clean up this thread? He's straight up lying, spreading FUD and whoever proves him wrong, however respectably, he just puts them in an ignore list. Dude also genuinely seems to have a lack of knowledge and pretends to know.

It's the first time I've asked for something like this in more than two decades. But seems like he wants an echo chamber in here where he can spread his lies and people will just stay quiet. This is unacceptable.
