Yes, but it has to be said that TAA is absolutely friggin awful at times. Things it does in motion are just ridiculous. I've been playing Indiana Jones, and while power lines are far from perfect even with DLAA, TAA just stops displaying them when you're moving your mouse. The whole image is incredibly blurry with TAA too. DLSS4, on the other hand, in is amazing in motion and even perf/balanced presets do not blur the picture as much as TAA does, not even close. They may have more jaggies though. I chuckle everytime someone says upscaling is "fake" and they prefer the "real" native resolution, and then they proceed to turn on TAA.

Dsr 4.0 is better than dldsr.

I personally like DLDSR 2.25x better vs DSR 4X

At both 4k base and 1440p uw base at least.

Never heard of 4.0 lol but guessing you meant 4x.

2.25x dldsr tends to oversharpen if you look close. The output looks quite clear at first, but if you analyze it closely, it is indeed oversharpened. it'll look nice if you play on a big screen and sit farther away, but to me sitting in front of a 27", oversharpened image is really quite off-putting.

I use it in combination with DLSS CNN quality they typically balance each other out and produce a superior image.

It can come down to specific games though some scale well with it others don't so it's never a blanket statement just in more scenarios that's what I prefer

I have the same problem with transformer DLSS right now I've switched back because it actively over sharpens everything.

I've always felt somthing about vanilla DSR was off.

I agree though it's best on a 42 inch plus 4k screen.

As @Zazigalka said, dldsr 2.25 is oversharpened ALOT, and it is to compensate for the fact that it isn't a clean conversion, unlike dsr 4.00. But i've made several posts on it on the pasts with lots of proof for dsr 4 + dlss being the best possible solution atm for image quality. You just need to remember to set dsr smoothing to 0% when using dsr 4.00.

My friend says DLDSR is superior to DLSS and he has a 5090, how come I never hear anyone ever talk about DLDSR? I'm just curious.

Its expensive to run unless you pair it with DLSS not every game works correctly with it as well.

Just stating my preference not that he or you is wrong I just prefer how it looks in most games. Without the combination of DLSS I don't actually like either.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is true as always :)

I like dsr 4 alot, but without dlss it is unreasonably demanding :D

But either way, we can agree that dsr + dlss is the magic gravy

dlaa

dsr 4.00 + dlss ultra performance

All detail is greatly enhanced vs dlaa

100% if your gpu is strong enough it's the way.

if you have performance to spare, sure, but they're not really that different

It will depend alot on your screens resolution and size - on a smaller lower res screen you won't be able to appriciate the difference, unless you zoom in on the original images :)

The detail I can see is so minor, it would be the last thing you notice when a robot is attacking her.

I'm trying to understand this, so increasing the res to help with jaggies and maybe add some minor detail and then use another piece of tech to lower the res that you just increased.

I tried DLSS4 in the first game ever with DLSS2: Control
DLSS2 vs Native vs DLSS4.png

4x MSAA looks so noisy that some details like freckles on the skin and pant's pocket are lost, DLSS2.2 however has some aliasing around the hair

And then DLSS4 is just too good: image is sharp + anti-aliased + more details.

FPS with 4x MSAA: 70FPS, meanwhile DLSS2/4 give 120FPS

Yeah, cause you are getting attacked ALL the time, no time to enjoy the visuals at all - it's astonishing that i managed to take screenshots inbetween being attacked by robots...

Perhaps give an optician a call...

Well I've only tested the difference on a level playing field in ff7 rebirth and while I did find quite an improvement over dlss 3 ( caused weird artifacts in hair), no, I still thought native(well actually 4k on 1440p monitor through dldsr) + dlaa looked better. But there are games where in the past I wasn't able to tell the difference between on and off with dlss, so I imagine nothing has changed there. For some reason rachet and clank comes to mind but there have been plenty of games where I played with dlss on when I had the horsepower to leave it off ( for power saving reasons).

EDIT: to be clear, I am just talking in terms of picture quality.
