Processor Atom Z3735F 1.33GHz
Motherboard It has no markings but it's green
Cooling No, it's a 2.2W processor
Memory 2GB DDR3L-1333
Video Card(s) Gen7 Intel HD (4EU @ 311MHz)
Storage 32GB eMMC and 128GB Sandisk Extreme U3
Display(s) 10" IPS 1280x800 60Hz
Case Veddha T2
Audio Device(s) Apparently, yes
Power Supply Samsung 18W 5V fast-charger
Mouse MX Anywhere 2
Keyboard Logitech MX Keys (not Cherry MX at all)
VR HMD Samsung Oddyssey, not that I'd plug it into this though....
Software W10 21H1, barely
Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
AMD found a way to make money out of the most silicon possible and feed all sections of the market with 1 CCD design.
Which is why were going to be getting 12-core CCDs next generation. Not because desktops need more cores, but because AMD need to stay ahead of ARM core counts in the datacenter

From what I have seen, R9 gets the best cores out of the Ryzen lot..
...one of the best CCDs
In any dual-CCD Ryzens, there always seems to be a good, binned CCD and a lesser, runt CCD that would be underwhelming even as a lower-end Ryzen5 or Ryzen7.

It makes sense though; By the time you've run out of preferred cores on the binned CCD, the overall package needs to be throttled back to sensible clocks and voltages anyway to keep it within the PPT, EDC, and thermal limits. Nobody wants their AM5 socket to turn into molten slag ;)

My runt CCD is still better than a 5600X, just under a 5800X maybe.. No 5GHz action on CCD2 for me.

So many choices.. my puny brain is being overloaded :D

Its not amd already has announced its sticking to the single ccd cache BS and hoping the chipset driver/windows does the heavy lifting on scheduling.
I also thought they didn't figure out the latency issue from jumping between both CCDs (at least for gaming).

NGL, I like this price. I picked up my 5950X in Germany during Covid and that bastard was $1100. So yeah, $699 makes my soul happy.

I have a 7950X3D and love it actually like it significantly better than I do the 7800X3D but it isn't a plug and play cpu like the 7800X3D or even the 5950X you have to babysit windows and make sure it's behaving not a huge deal to me but it would be nice if it just worked properly with scheduling out of the box.

100%, if we do get 12core CCD and 24core 9950X replacement at some point it will be because AMD would want to offer that to the pros.
We like or not as end consumers that is the business today. We are seeing it on GPUs too.

Thinking of pulling the trigger to AM5 later this year (maybe Q2) to something like a 9700X, keep it until 2027-28 and then go for a 12core that hopefully it will be out by then and keep it another 2-3years.
~6years with 2 CPUs per platform looks fine to my book.

I also thought they didn't figure out the latency issue from jumping between both CCDs (at least for gaming).
Most likely but lets think also about how much beneficial would be a second X3D CCD even if there was a significant cross talk improvement.

Still using third party software for scheduling?

I know that would be glorious for productivity software, but for gaming, I need it to remain on the fastest CCD.

I do, it's about 95% there if you clean install W11 24h2 and set the bios to prefer cache but using process lasso to keep windows and all programs on the non cache ccd and games on the cache ccd is always superior.

I actually tested both the 7800X3D and 7950X3D pretty extensively before deciding which one to keep and if it wasn't for process lasso I wouldn't have kept the 16 core.

Also for anyone who plays games with anti cheat software you better hope windows doesn't go rogue on you and bounce between CCDs causing you all kinds of issues its rare thankfully for my use case but a possibility.

I think the cross CCD latency will be also improved with a better I/O. +Higher MCLK/UCLK/FCLK speeds and so on....
I hope Zen6 on AM5 will get that (fingers crossed)

I see...

I saw a Jayz2cent video a few months ago that core parking was solved but the showcase was with just 1 game, Borderlands3 if I'm not mistaken.

Even in TPU reviews the 7950X3D was a forking beast. It is the most expensive AM5 part that I see right now.

Its not so much core parking it's Windows scheduling a game on the wrong CCD which is rare but happens. Some games also want to spill beyond 8 cores and Windows doesn't always do a good job of keeping them on the X3D CCD. It's at most 1 in every 10 games but it happens and isn't Always pleasant. It would be less noticeable at 4k.

I would actually wait for these to hit the streets I don't believe you will be seeing pricing at MSRP once retailer markups and scalpers get involved.

The 9950X3D will still be hard to get and likely sell above MSRP with the 9800X3D so hard to get and most likely people avoiding the 9900X3D... Might be amds plan for people to say F it and get the less desirable model.

9800X3D has been readily available to me for a few weeks now, I have had it in my cart like 50 times lol.. 689 plus tax..

Edit:

I don't want AM5 to be like how it was with AM4 for me.. where I buy almost all the good CPUs lol..

9800X3D has been readily available to me for a few weeks now, I have had it in my cart like 50 times lol.. 689 plus tax..

Edit:

I don't want AM5 to be like how it was with AM4 for me.. where I buy almost all the good CPUs lol..

I guess all 5 AMD fans up there in Canadia got them already....

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I think I've inadvertently installed W11 on a 5900X at home and forgotten to re-select XBOX Game Bar during my custom autounattend.xml install to decrapify and debloat Windows.

Is that what I need to deal with gaming on a W11 with a dual-CCD?

I never had any issues with 5000 dual ccd chips or 3000 for that matter. I've always disabled game bar up untill ryzen 7000X3D.
