Exactly a year after I-III Remastered was released, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered (Revelations, Chronicles, TR: AOD) will be released on 14th February. I pre-ordered on Steam yesterday for $13.50 because I'm still enjoying the previous release and love all things TR.
What most of us are very curious about is how Aspyr has remastered Angel Of Darkness (TRAOD) because for most of us, the game was impossible to play due to the clunky controls. I tried over a dozen times over the years, but gave up after an hour or so.
Expectations are high and judging what they did with I-III, I'm sure we won't be disappointed!

The only way to fix Angel is to essentially remake the game from the ground up. Which is arguably a waste of time. The controls, while shit, are far from the only issue with that game. It’s the DMC 2 of the series, it’s beyond salvaging. And this is me saying that as someone who kinda liked what AoD was trying to go for atmosphere-wise.

In it's current form it's unplayable, I agree. I have it installed from CD and on GOG, both with mods that are supposed to fix the controls, but don't. It's like torture trying to play it, which I have been doing every couple of years for no good reason
Anyway, I feel sure that Aspyr wouldn't go to all this effort for it to remain unplayable.

TR Legend and Anniversary are pretty good games, haven't played Underworld yet but it's supposed to be good, too.

Modern controls in AOD have improved the control somewhat, but not as much as I was hoping. The camera seems to come and go, especially in rooms, where the mouse camera doesn't work at all.
I was really hoping for LAU modern controls in all locations, but it's all still a bit janky and frustrating. The graphics are a little better, but I'm more concerned with smooth Lara control than anything else.
Better yes, but not what I was expecting at all.

If anyone knows how to get that medi pack, please advise soonest

everyone seems very happy with angel of darkness, there was one negative review that said angel of darkness is still buggy, but it said in the review he only played on steam deck. so maybe its a steamOS linux issue, cause 99% of the other reviews seem very impressed.

also, one review says you can use lossless scaling frame generation in angel of darkness, but not the other two, to go from 60 fps to 120.

I'm still getting used to the controls and am using 'modern'. Yes, they are improved, however, when Lara goes into a room, you can't control her with the mouse. Once outside a room, yes you can.
Perhaps some patches will be forthcoming.

I imagine 90% of people are playing with a controller, so I wouldn't be surprised if all the very positive reviews on steam are from controller users. This sounds more like a mouse keyboard issue to me, as I imagine most people will be playing with a controller. Personally, adventure games like Tomb Raider 2013 reboot I do prefer with mouse and keyboard myself, as the aiming with the bow and arrow was just so much nicer of an experience vs controller, so I do understand your frustration. That being said, if it is too bad, maybe concede on this one and just use a controller like everyone else.

Thanks, but I don't use and never will use a controller, so I'll persevere with keyboard and mouse, as I do with every other game I have.
