A reminder to everyone that Nvidia publicly claimed that this card will match the 4090.

I know people that sold their 4090s and 4080s in anticipation of this cheaper gpu that allegedly matched their performances for half the cost. It’s not okay to lie like that. Even though I have an Nvidia gpu I still think this whole 5070TI marketing bs was so over the top that it made me seriously question their ethics.
Also, this is what happens when there’s no competition in a free market. I wish AMD or anyone really would compete, so we’d win. But unfortunately with no competition Nvidia can literally do whatever they want and it’ll see be okay

The biggest positive that the 5070 ti's has for me is that it has 16gb and DLSS4, but I'm really scratching my head at why the 5080 doesn't have at least 24gb.. maybe they are holding off for the 5080 Ti or Super.
To upsell a 5090.

This is so fishy, this is not funny. I remember when Nvidia gave an 8800GT priced at 250 usd and prior to that, that kind performance was 600 usd, that was amazing, after that everything has been slowly going towards to incredible distrust and the milking is abundant.
If the buyers are stupid and pay, why to come down the price

Results from techtubers show 5070 Ti become faster than 4080S when DLSS SR is enabled.

Now we need FPS comparion between 4080S vs 5070Ti (both with DLSS + FG 2x mode ;))

But it’s not ‘stupid’, it’s simple market demand. I paid for my house and my car the prices the market deemed fit for it. There’s no right or wrong for pricing, as people won’t buy what’s not a good product (for any reason). The issue is the lack of competition and regulations as capitalism is in full force here and Nvidia is pleasing its shareholders

Wasn't it the 5070 instead of the Ti in their marketing claims?

Arse gravy of the worst kind.

"Good performance gains: +30% over 4070 Ti" - in what world is 30% improvement over last generation "good"? (And it's actually not "+30%", which could trick you it's "more than 30 percent", it's 28%, and some reviews are showing way less performance increase). Which generation had it worse? You have to go back to RTX 20x0 for that - a generation that focused solely on raytracing and DLSS and ignored raster improvement. Is it only "good" because RTX 5080 has way worse increase over RTX 4080? Yes, you're gargling manure, but it could be worse?

Let's generate some realistic price around here. It has 12% less FPS in average 4K than RTX 5080 - which sells for about 1650 EUR here. So 12% less than that is 1450 EUR.

Peasants rejoice!

I agree with you on the pricing calculation (which they increased because of the lack of competition), however you’re incorrect about generational improvements. Can we please start being realistic when it comes to physics and the actual limitations we’re getting with transistor sizes and other tech improvements? This isn’t an endless pool of unrealized performance gains, there’s an actual limit to what can be done for each price point given the R&D and manufacturing costs.

You should check the individual game scores, the data is all there
You still bottlenecking amd HEAVILY.

The review says beat 7900 xtx.

This is a hard fanboy dream.

If you want to continue to lie people here its perfectly okay, but if you dont want to then change something.

Take a new review with 7900 xtx with the same settings.

First of all Debloat the f ck out of windows 10/11. Disable all security. (yes you dont need it) People say it like anybody in this world give a dam faccck about their pc and home stuff.:laugh:

Then retest it. But right now you Hold back amd cards heavily and you know it.

Just to be clear here: I have an RTX 5080 and 7900 XTX at home. Im not an amd fan boy neither nvidia.

Why does the TPU review seem to differ so much from Hardware Unboxed with regards to it equaling the 7900XTX?

Always has to do with the games benchmarked, and how they're benchmarked. You can't replicate results from most reputable sites because most of them don't use the canned benchmarks, but that also means it's difficult to compare even the same game, as those sites may use different areas to benchmark in.

Just gotta look at the games.
They must have just added the sale price, because yesterday it was 899.99. I wonder how many they have.. but for the majority the AIB's are still very high compared to MSRP. I really hope no one buys these cards at these prices.. lol

Microcenter is a terrible site to judge actual prices on. You get big deals all the time but the catch is you need to go to the store, and many people don't live a reasonable distance away from a Microcenter, or don't even live in a state with a Microcenter. It might work for you, but as an example, I would have a 4 hour round trip to travel to my nearest microcenter.

Best to judge actual prices by online retailers that will actually ship the product.

Are you sure it shouldn't be "taking a beating by RX 7900 XTX"?

Not sure how this title makes sense. If anything, this is competing with the cheaper 4070 Ti Super in price and it's barely any faster than it.
To me, its a confirmation of bias.

Thats the plague thats eating up the tech world and why we now have a Ngreedia monopoly.

Mainly the use of a very different test suite and even then benchmarking in different portions of the same game can give different results.

Try to remember even when testing the same game reviewers don't benchmark the same area games are very variable.

Also Hubs using multiple games that scale poorly on 50 series.

That's why it's never good to take one review as gospel and average out results from 4-5 different reputable reviewers.

That being said another stinker what a $#!+$#0w assuming this hits msrp somtime during it's lifetime it'll offer meh but ok value but at it's most likely $850-950 price straight garbage.

@W1zzard TPU needs a new badge...
Highly Recommended @ msrp

This is so fishy, this is not funny.
Nothing new at all RTX 5080 was something similar and RTX 5070 will be similar to that.

Congratulation.

Techpowerup became an official Nvidia fanboy at benchmark.

Hardware unboxed and other reviews shows 7900 xtx fight with 5080 equal or depends on the game.

But if it comes to techpowerup it totally nvidia fanboy results.

With the same Processor :D

Time to join to the bullshido websites

I wouldn't know about becoming an official Nvidia fanboy, and benchmarks can have their own set of variability.

What is indeed very odd is that heavily editorialized title that, if anything else, is a bit dishonest. The 5070 Ti is at best trading blows with the 7900XTX and has a lot less VRAM.
And its actual price is very close to the 7900XTX as well.
This is a card that didn't move the needle in terms of perf/$, and only added another tiny variation to the plethora of Ti, Super and Super Ti cards out there. It's a direct competitor to its 2 year-old brethren in performance, price, features and performance-per-watt.

And to top all of this off, TPU decides to only mention the fake price as a controversy (not a controversy if it's real and everyone can prove it by looking at any store price), followed by a recommended stamp.

TPU was pretty much the only site I visit that pushed this far into trying to make the 5070 Ti look good.
It was a strange hill to die on.

A reminder to everyone that Nvidia publicly claimed that this card will match the 4090.
I was actually in the audience when he said that. He wasn't talking about the 5070 Ti, he said the $550 5070 12GB was the one matching the 4090. And some people in the audience roared with happiness (and naiveness... mostly the latter).

I'm pretty sure you'll find that slide from CES somewhere on the internet.

Now no one will complain about the fake MSRP and the price but once the 9070XT comes out at $750 people will lose their shit.

If AMD was off better, they would have released it by now, there is absolutely no business reason to let your competitor snatch most of your customers cash up before releasing you own product. Idiotic even, thus, it's by logic, I can only assume, they will scalp at the same price range and also have near no stock.

If a GPU is held back by standard Windows configuration it's a GPU's design flaw. 7900 XTX is only better at pure raster and sucks at everything else, compared to 5070 Ti.

The only significant problem I see with this particular GPU is its bizarre price. Should've been under 600 to be impressive. Oh, only if we had someone schooling NV on how to make GPUs but AMD are doing drugs instead.

AMD will do absolutely nothing for gamers - they will look at Nvidia's price for certain performance, and undercut it a couple of ten dollars.

They have no intention to compete with Nvidia in Gaming cards market. As Nvidia's revenue is now in AI server hardware, so is AMDs in server CPUs, and they can't get them fabricated fast enough - focusing on making mass of gaming GPUs will only bring them less revenue.

that it made me seriously question their ethics.

Well... there is your problem right there, they had no ethics to begin with. :D
If it makes you feel any better, when most people can no longer afford the bread and circuses, well, something happens, then neither side has ethics. :D
