I was lucky to get a RTX5080 last week.
But now I found out that I am missing 16 ROP's.

You aren't the only one, there are 5090s missing them.

Also Reports of melting 12/16 pin connectors is still happening, plus blackscreens/bsods(crash/freeze), and now even burnt up vrms.

It just gets better and better...

Now per tpu database it shows your stuff is fully enabled but NV on their Page doesn't post tmu or rop amounts

Troll thread? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since it's the first post and all, but:

1. OP's card is fine and it is not missing anything
2. The RTX 5080 is not affected by the ROP issue

Why so quick to throw out the troll label? Maybe he’s just a novice user. You should indeed give him the benefit of the doubt.
Some sites initially reported the 5080 with 128 active ROPs, so maybe he expected that and thought 112 ROPs was incorrect. Either way, the OP never posted here again after being told everything was fine, so we don't know. But honestly, after being called a troll right away, I can understand that reaction.

As for point no. 2 - yeah, that one didn’t age too well.

Here's a 5080 with 104 ROPs:

Mostly because of the forum's activity lately + the fact OP's GPU is reporting 112 ROPs

This launch is f'd up beyond words

Maybe he have nvda stocks, or just is fanboy.

I wish I had, but I don't. I'm not a fanboy of any brand. If I have any reputation of being an Nvidia fanboy, it's because I've called out on AMD for so long. Time to call on Nvidia has come, and I'm THIS close to canceling my 5090 order (which hasn't been fulfilled yet).

At this point I can only imagine Scott Herkelman going full Tom Cruise on Nvidia, sabotaging left and right, because that's a lot of fuck ups.

Tropic Thunder!

Nvidia just was more hungry and eats more ROPs. from this batch of chips.

The 5080's case is very unusual because it does not contain any disabled units, therefore it shouldn't be subject to binning errors. It's a fully enabled GB203 processor, unlike the 5090 and 5070 Ti. If this is happening with the 5080, my hypotheses are that either Nvidia has a major firmware-level bug, or their drivers are broken in some wild way which are manifesting in some samples or configurations.

Truth be told, this launch is such a mess that I think Nvidia should initiate a recall and refund all orders.

Maybe we just will wait for second Nvidia statement about this case.

They need to come out with more than a flimsy statement, they need to take the blame, offer a swift solution and initiate an open recall to those who no longer want their cards. It's what a decent company would do when faced with this many launch issues. But as we all know, Nvidia is not a decent company, and this is not their primary market any longer.

That's what they really deserve after all what they did to us. (Milking left, right and center) It's just a karma.

Considering how little was actually delivered, I don't believe it would be financially burdensome for them to simply withdraw all the items. A significantly more negative effect would be seen if they didn't do it, or delayed the withdrawal.

Financially burdensome or not. $3T company. A recall is something they can afford, and if due diligence was done before launch, it wouldn't have happened, ergo, they deserve the hit.

That's still highly suspicious.

Suspicious of what? That I speak my mind?
