I predict a perfect shot to the big toe by AMD.

I am with Steve. They need customers. No one will buy if they are Nvidia -50, except diehards.
That's the thing, they might only have stock for the die hards. So in AMDs eyes it's a "win-win" situation (in the short term)

Agreed. Long term is where it is going to be. And according to AMD past history it's been bad.

Otherwise there wouldn't be close to a 90% Nvidia video card saturation.

So, $599 possible for the xt variant

I hope AMD listens to many of the people in the industry. If the basic XT is at $599... That's is going to be a hit and I think it is going to be a big one. The $549 for the non XT is okay???

Not just for me, if 4k is unplayble because slow GPU there is no value for those who 4K gaming.
Same whit 1440p and 1080p
And max settings gaming.

Price/perf. means if u cant play u games in 4K whit that GPU then that GPU is not good value, even if its best of the best in Price/perf charts.
Price/perf is subjective, if u think anything else then its not so wise

i can also say Gtx970 is best price/performance (It will be in top of the charts if u get one lets say 30$)
It depends on which games you play. Not a lot of people do 4K, I'd wager most don't even bother to upgrade their monitors for gaming because they think nothing can drive it well enough.
It needs to be NV minus $85. Otherwise there's no value over the NV offering.
LMAO no, that's still not enough of a discount.
So, $599 possible for the xt variant

$50 too high in my opinion. Market share will probably remain stable at this price.

My suggestion was in keeping things reasonable.
Alright. I don't think it's reasonable though, personally. It's a slightly bigger die than a 7800 XT and all other components are the same, and that card cost $500. The 7900 GRE was $550 and used a bigger die. I don't think $665 is a very reasonable price when you keep in mind their cost to manufacture should be similar to these cards and their goal this generation is to gain marketshare.

It might work out if they are widely available (in Germany they should) and I still prefer the 9070 at 499, but I am not in a rush, luckily.......at least as long no card dies xD

XT should be no more than 599,-. Non XT should be 499,-

It won't sell at a higher price. The 550-650 line is psychologically too close to Nvidia's MSRP for 'a tier up' and people will then go up 'because they're spending big money anyway'.
The ways the mind works... It also relates badly to the current pricing of the 7900XT which could be found below 650.

It boggles the mind how AMD does not realize this and how they seem to drag out this release, but to me it just looks like FUD. They're completely clueless, because they're responsive. Roll for initiative... 1.

Maybe they are banking on the reality of "street" pricing

The whole "voters were right, the data was wrong" thing...

If the $599 / $549 is true then clearly N48 has great yields and AMD don't want to supply many 9070's so are pricing it to upsell to the 9070 XT. Also means they can supply more 9070 XTs rather than splitting the same volume of chips across 2 products.

Also please stop with Non XT.... Nobody says 5070 Non Ti and it functionally the same differentiator.

So a German instead of buying 9070XT for 650 Euro, would instead buy one of these for up to twice the price:

Because someone claimed that MSRP on these is "$750"? :D

I thought I have seen it all, but nope.
People seriously push "AMD please significantly undercut IMAGINARY MSRP by The Filthy Green".
Oh wow. :D

Maybe they should. With as imaginary MSRP.

You might be right on that. Given the chip size, good yields seem plausible.

Blame AMD for talking about vague '9070 series' cards for that one, and changing their tier/naming structure every new moon. I'll call it whatever feels logical relative to AMD's misfired branding strategy. We're also often talking about, for example, XTX versus XT. What's that in the Nvidia comparison? Ti vs Titties?

NV would be 4070 / 4070 Super / 4070Ti / 4070Ti Super

But what is "nvidia" here?
Fake MSRP or real MSRP?

Allegedly $600 for XT
