I have seen better graphics on the ZX Spectrum. Less colors of course and lower resolution, but better.
Retro pixels are nice when they are also clear, not like a puke on screen. I don't really check, but some indy titles using these pixelated 2D graphics are most times far behind the art quality and practicality of the graphics used in games between 1985 and 1995. Seeing Colt Canyon, I 'll definitely chose to play Cannon Fodder from the 90's any time instead of this game.
