4k160hz for 350$ or 4k180hz for 700$

Hi experts. I am shopping for the new 4k monitor ips for GAMING.
Now I found 2 contenders: Gigabyte M27U 160 hz and AW2725QF 180 hz. The main difference is obviously 2x price for AW2725QF and 180 to 360 hz in 1080p.
Which one should I go for?
Will I lose a lot if I go for 160 instead of 180?

Usually games dip a bit less to 160 than 180 then it will be even smoother than 180 where I will notice all dips. And 2x saving.
That's why I am leaning for 160.

Only you can tell. I personally can't see the difference beyond 180 Hz and 160 to 180 is so subtle I wouldn't even bother so I'd go for a 160 Hz SKU if they're otherwise identical.

Still, I recommend going for both monitors and see for yourself. The 240 Hz one might have a generally better panel and better colours, gamma, stability etc. Or another way around. But shelling 1050 USD at once might be problematic...

yeah they are identical it seems only msi has 1080p 360 mode which I will never use for sure
I play only in 4k

If the monitors have otherwise comparable feature sets for your use case there is no reasonable way to justify spending TWICE as much for 20Hz more. It won’t make any difference. Of course, seek out the reviews of the models in question anyway - the panel quality and actual motion clarity might differ quite drastically and only you can say what’s acceptable for you. But, in a vacuum, 160 vs 180Hz doesn’t make a lick of difference. It’s less than a millisecond of frametime.

It's 80 Hz but yes. I just told I am personally unable to tell 180 and 240 apart. YMMV.

When I researched a bit for the Alienware AW2725QF, I come across to ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCG, with comparisons to Alienware AW2725QF and Gigabyte M27U included.

The ROG model also does dual mode, but only at 4K160Hz/1080p320Hz.

I'm using the M27U to type this, it is great value. But I don't know if it is a matte coating thing or what, it's black level is worse than the other IPS displays I have been using. I might have overblown this; there are more knowledgeable guys here for this topic... or, maybe, we have to go with either office monitors or expensive HDR capable models to get rid of this.
If you can find the monitor in person you can have a much better look on its picture quality to decide whether you want it or not... but there aren't that much value options for this segment.

AW2725QF should be better at that, but if you have no use on the dual mode thing, it looks very overpriced. And the ROG model should be much cheaper if you need the dual mode thing.

Agreed, everyones eyes are different. I had a 120hz way back and the roomate had a 144hz screen and I couldn't tell the diference unless tried out specific tests and deliberiatly trying to notice it and at that very subtle. Personally I find the thicker AG coatings to be annoying...........always best to view in person but I know that's impossible a lot of times.
