Hard drives have been so expensive. First descent price I've seen in awhile

Agreed, but even most externals that are far larger are sub $15/TB like this recent one at $11.625/TB:

One year warranty vs three. and I'm betting not an IronWolf, since those are NAS-level and designed to run 24-7.

that's really expensive for a HDD. i would not pay more than 10€ per TB.

good, but not there. I purchased a 10tb used drive for 80 bucks., during shipment it got sent back for some reaosn. perhaps so they can sell it for 100

im waiting. Im in no rush.
