If you like, I can write you a few lines on the PowerColor Reaper soon, but on Linux.

Sorry, guys. :ohwell:
Let me know how it went for you because it looks 9070 series is not supported out of the box on launch day...
It is supported but you need to install Mesa 25.0, (nearly) latest linux-firmware on Arch (at least kernel is good on Arch).
Today I will need to see after work if the "official" package bumped for Mesa or I really need to swap to mesa-git.
Which is doable but I was not expecting to spend time on it. I just wanted to play yesterday night. And it was quicker to put my GRE back to the machine and fire it up ;)

But weekend will come and either
A) arch will push the needed packages
B) I will spend some time to make the switch
C) put the A770 back to my son's PC and call it a day :slap:

The biggest problem by far is that at those prices people really are buying them.
Absolutly. I have seen some shops put directly 900-950 Euro because nothing else can be found

Stock is back on Amazon, seems to be even more stable than during the day. Most "premium" models can be had for 800-ish €, quite a few cards seem to be normaly in stock now.

Yep, they're the official XFX seller in Europe. Their cards are available close to MSRP. Amazon IT also has quite a few of them.

Well, looking at the prices of the 5070 and the Ti, I think it's a no-brainer even for the Nvidia crowd. Here in Europe, the cheapest 5070 I could find is 900€, the TIs go for over 1100€.

I wouldn't mind. Performance is more or less the same. The most interesting info to me is cooler performance (temps, noise). So please, highlight that area :D
I also have a reaper on hand... gaming and a few timespy extreme runs and my card have yet to go over 65⁰c. It's fairly audible, I haven't measured it but you can definitely hear it but i suspect that if I mess with the fan curve that I could lower the noise while sacrificing a bit on temps.
It's enclosed in a mcprue Apollo se v2 case.
Edit: max hot spot temps after 2hrs of gaming is 93⁰, avg was 86. Maximum mem temp 94⁰, avg was 90⁰. Max gpu temp was 68⁰ with 65⁰ being the avg. It boosted regularly above 2,900 mhz with avg around 2,700 mhz.

Shame they could not get the power consumption under control.
Hoping the non XT version or 9060 XT will be under 250w
(FWIW) Gamer's Nexus complimented Navi 48's efficiency. The 9070 seems to be very close to your target.
The RX 9070 non-XT’s MSRP is $550, with the XT 9% higher at $600 MSRP. That makes the XT version just 9% more expensive. Despite the similar pricing, the 9070 actually remains really interesting on its own.
First of all, in some of our efficiency tests when looking at performance per watt, it nearly tied for the most efficient GPU. This seems to be in the so-called “sweet spot” of power and performance in what would be a huge upset favoring AMD. The fact that it’s starting to chip away at one of NVIDIA’s key areas of competition is huge. The reason for that is simply because the 9070 pulls a lot less power than the 9070 XT by percentage but most of the performance remains.

Like most GPUs (at least since Vega), reduce the voltage and clocks a smidge, and you can get into that power target, easily.

There are 2 PNY 5080s in stock for $1k at MC now. 9070XTs over $600 lose their value appeal. Might as well get a 5080 for $1k than pay $750-850 for 9070XT.

I said that about the 570Ti the other day, its a sad day to be a PC gamer.

Microcenter had a restock of all of the cards including five different MSRP models in twin cities. My sister lives about a half hour away so went out and they had a line, they ran out of inventory three people in front...
At least it looks like microcenter will keep doing MSRP prices

AMD seems to be trying to encourage retailers to maintain the prices too. As much as they can. At least that's been the statement social media.

Wasn't too difficult to pick the Nitro+ 9070XT up today. I looked stateside and MC also had a few drops throughout the day with some MSRP models as well. There seems to be more 9070XT's available in two days compared to 5070Ti/5080/5090's combined since their launch. Bizarre stuff..

Will do. :)

I'm expecting it to arrive sometime today. Cooler performance is what I'm most curious about myself. :D

I just hope Linux/Mesa driver support will be ok on Bazzite.

Based on my experience with 2x PowerColor cards now, the default fan curve seems to be WAY too low. I recommend cranking it using LACT.

Here's what I use:

More aggressive fan curve:

Fan Tuning: Enabled.
- Zero RPM: On
- Advanced Control: On
- Temp: 50 (Speed: 40)
- Temp: 60 (Speed: 50)
- Temp: 70 (Speed: 60)
- Temp: 80 (Speed: 75)
- Temp 90 (Speed 85)

That's what I've been hearing as well! That's excellent news, hopefully demand can be met and that will discourage scalpers from buying up more inventory. I just wish there was a micro center close by me I really want this sapphire nitro+

Using GDDR6 helps

Thank you very much kind sir.
