‘Kay. So the 4090 was (officially) 1600 bucks. The RTX 6000 Ada was the same idea in relation to that as this is to the 5090 and was 6800 bucks. So 4.25 times more. By that logic this will, at best, start at 8500. Cool. And the fun part - they will all sell out.
This is we do not have 5090s available.... same finite crushed sand, but this one carries 4 times more profits, for the same cost....

Ah, in case anyone was wondering where all the Blackwell supply and GDDR7 ram was going...
doubt the supply issue is the ram. is that the lie they are peddling?

Honestly, the market needs a prosumer GPU like this. Gamers and professionals competing for the top gaming card only means gamers' wallets are unnecessarily destroyed.
Nah man.... Its the other way round the market should not allow this to happen. making gamers compete with professionals for the exact same chips is what's making the whole gaming gpu shortage.... what should be happening is professionals with completely different arquitecture than this gamers... why would nvidia sell a GPU for $2k when it can sell it for $8k?? same costs but 4 times the revenue....

This needs to go along with that one Thermaltake case that gamers nexus said it got its airflow from the 4th dimension.
Link...

got to love the post merging.... :D

Except the RAM is literally contributing to it. Samsung is the only GDDR7 supplier for Nvidia right now. They started mass production at the last half of last year.

Nvidia layman here: this is the same generation as the 5000 series, so why is it designated 6000? Do the PRO cards have their own generation line or is it similar to AMD and their mobile GPU versioning?

Their Pro cards have their own generational naming. Its usually ahead of Geforce cards or just not even related.

Totally different. Previous Gen (equivalent to the GeForce 4000 series) had a RTX 6000 Ada, the one before that (Ampere, GeForce 3000 series) had a RTX A6000.
Their enterprise lineup has a totally non-sense naming scheme. At least now it has the "Pro" moniker.

This is derived from the Quadro lineage. The 6000 model typically denominates the highest end design that shares the core architecture with the gaming models, since Fermi

Quadro 6000 (GF100), roughly same core as GTX 470
Quadro K6000 (GK110), same core as Titan Black
Quadro M6000 (GM200), same core as GTX Titan X
Quadro P6000 (GP102), same core as Titan Xp
Quadro RTX 6000 (TU102), same core as Titan RTX
RTX A6000 (GA102), same core as RTX 3090 Ti
RTX 6000 Ada Generation (AD102), same processor type as RTX 4090 but with a lot more cache and SMs enabled
RTX PRO 6000 (GB202), in the same vein as its predecessor against the RTX 5090

Quadro GP100 and GV100 rank higher than their respective generation's "Quadro 6000" and Titan models, GP100 never saw a consumer release and the GV100's "consumer grade" counterpart is the Titan V.

i think it's time we face the music, the consumer cards should not be using the same gddr version or TSMC node as the AI cards, until then we will have no stock or reasonable prices.
