Intel X48 chipset, with optimized system memory capabilities, chipset over-speed protection removed for maximum overclocking, providing faster boot and application load times and additional power savings.

DDR3 memory:
The DDR3 memory is a choice for next-generation PC system. DDR3 memories support data rates 1,600 MT/s, with clock frequencies of 400 MHz to 800 MHz, respectively-effectively doubling the speed of DDR2. The DDR3 supply voltage has also been reduced from 1.8V to 1.5V, cutting power consumption by up to 30 percent. No matter the performance and power consumption.

PCIE Gen 2 Technology:
PCIE 2.0 doubles the bus standard's bandwidth from 2.5 Gigabit/s to 5 Gigabit/s, meaning an x32 connector can transfer data at up to 16 GB/s in each direction. It is entirely works compatible with PICE 1.0.

The CrossFireX:
Supports ATI CrossFireX Technology, real dual PCI-E Gen2 x16 or three PCI-E Gen2 x8 connectivity for up to 2 or 3-way latest ATI CrossFireX VGA cards and physics card supporting as well, providing the ultra realistic 3D rendering.

Functionality of Teaming:
LANParty series provides Dual gigabit LAN to gamers as a basic feature. Nowadays, it is almost a "must" when users want to grab information such like DVD contents, highly loaded games or engaging in instant fighting with buddies on LAN games. For that reason, DFI LP UT X48-T3R provides another unique function to all the heavy users of Internet/ LAN - the Teaming function. It features double-bandwidth to meet the needs. Moreover, it has a "fail-over" function that if one of the LAN ports crashes, the other one will continue. It's true that teaming function gives you the performance, connectivity and back up functions.

Serial ATA 3.0GBps/ (SATA II):
SATA 3.0GBps High speed storage improves transfer rate for improved data access. DK 790FX provides 4 Serial ATA ports with up to 3 Gbps and it supports RAID 0/ 1/ 0+1/ 5 as well.

The Digital PWM:
DFI is the first motherboard manufacturer to replace the ordinary PWM with Digital PWM in the industry. Digital PWM uses components to supply stabilized current, which accommodates enthusiasts ' needs in OC or gaming; moreover, it supplies sufficient current to AMD quad cores CPU. Besides, the heat dissipating fins of the PWM circuit further stabilize current flow to the system.

Bernstein audio:
DFI's Bernstein audio module is the new provision that demonstrates the excellent on-board audio quality of LANParty UT X48-T3R. The board is innovatively with many new features that surpass those of Karajan's. For one, it is relocated to the PCI slot vicinity for easy mounting. Now the new audio module achieves a perfect noise reduction than the previous models. Since that Pro-gamers or power users want the best quality for their output devices, the noise reduction feature is the answer. It is noteworthy that Bernstein audio adopts Realtek ALC885 high definition codec and is certified by Microsoft Vista Premium. The new ALC885 features a DAC SNR of 106dB and ADC SNR of 101dB. It also supports sampling at the highest 192 KHz, 10 DAC channels, 3 Stereo ADC channels (7.1 + 2 channels) and 24bit PCM. Besides, it provides "Full-rate Lossless Content Protection Codec" that can decrypt Content Protection for HD-DVD in the future, and cast clearest image quality for DVD playing.

EZ Switch:
For an easier installation, DFI created a better way for overclockers to switch the on and reset button while the system without a chassis.

The debug light:
The debug LED can help users to define what sort of problems they are facing. It totally has 40 different signal code helps user to fix out hardware issue in a blink of eyes.

100% Japanese Capacitors:
DFI LANParty series is strictly incorporates refined components in every motherboard. The Japanese-made highest-end capacitor is one of our insistences. The super long product life cycle, high stability and reliability makes the Japanese-made capacitor became the rock solid part of a super overclocking platform.

CMOS Reloaded Technology:
CMOS Reloaded is creative design of BIOS settings, which is totally first-in-industry to meet enthusiast's need since 2003. Overclockers can "Backup" and "Load" With CMOS Reloaded for their OC BIOS setting. They don't bother to start all over again from the very beginning of fine-tune procedure while there's any failure by OC. Instead, they can save stable O.C. settings during O.C. procedure and thus make OC in a very convenience way.

Genie BIOS:
Enthusiasts always take great pleasure when they are able to squeeze a little more performance from their system through overclocking. For this reason, DFI offers a variety of BIOS options for enthusiasts. The voltage options include memory voltage option, NB & SB option, CPU VCore option and HT voltage option. This creates an unlimited OC environment for our enthusiasts.

I love everything about this board, except for the DDR3 memory support. I just couldn't justify buying 4GB of DDR3 at current prices. It's so not worth it. If they are going to release a DDR2 variant, I will strongly consider this board.

Why is the picture so ridiculously blurry? I mean seriously, how is that supposed to help? They might as well just not include a picture.

I bet I could cut out 70% of the crap in this article and still get the point across.

"It provides enthusiasts with a powerful strength that supports the latest CrossFire technology and the fastest FSB1600MHz, DDR3 1333 memory."

It has CrossfireX, a 1600MHz FSB, and supports DDR3 @ 1333MHz.

powerful strength....these are filler words, this article is 70% filler.

Nice mobo, but I just need the specs, not the "latest and greatest" aspect.

I'm with you on that! the board looks great, but I consider buying DDR3 in a year or so more, when the price isn't an arm or a leg

It might have to do something with that Thermalright chipset cooling. Looks new. If you notice, that's the only parts that are blurred out.

What I especially like about this one is the fact that it can power up AMD CPUs too  :

I have the x38 board that supports DDR2. It is one helluva board. So many options in the BIOS for overclocking. I have no idea what they all do.
