i just figured out why COD4 was crashing after about 1 hour. Its the ram clock. I lowered it to 1156 and it was still crashing, the i set it to 1143 and it ran rock solid. I raised it back to 1156 and the crashing started again. So right now i'm running 823/1143. So i may be able to turn the core clock back up...

That's weird though, the ram is hardly overclocked.. (i do know that on the diamond card, the heatsink does not cover one ram chip.)

Instead of fussing with floppies, why not integrate the RAID drivers directly onto a custom install disk using nLite? http://www.nliteos.com/

You can also use nlite to strip a ton of the stuff that you don't need in Windows, making for a lighter and faster running XP.

i cant get my board to post at your speed on those volts! it crashed every time

i just find it odd how so manyo others can clock to 3.8+ on low volts when mine is 3.66 @ 1.5.

could it be my board also?

hell i hope its not your board!!! I want to get the same one(or similar) My q doesnt clock far past 3.6 I can hit 3.8 but its really only bench stable, over night at load it will fault and restart atleast once

im running 3.7 right now with my benches for the 9600, and Im at 1.62 volts in bios - after droop its at 1.57 so dont feel to bad. I think most are like ours, and some are just better. But honestly, we are not doing that bad..... lets be thankful that we dont have phenoms

coolers make alot of difference, as well as ambient room temp, and you seem quite underpowered for crossfire.

thats what I was thinkin!!!! damn, wish i wouldnt have sold my PC P & C, I was doing 3.84 3.9 pretty easily before, now just 3.73, and that requires way to much volts!!!!

No, you got what seems to be a roughly average Q6600. My Q6600 was almost identical for OCing.

Use a multi meter , using software to measure voltages is about as accurate as using feet to measure mhz. Take those readings with a grain of salt.

Next is the vmod for the 3870 so i can hit 900mhz core

the problem isn't software temperature monitoring, it's easy as cake to write very accurate ADC code with floating point processing. the inaccuracy of the temperature readings, as well as the variance between different temp monitoring software, is most definately more the fault of the tiny little thermistors they put into cpus, etc. becuase unless the termistor has a prefectly linear response, you will get inaccurate ADC results. then factor in how different software may or may not try to compensate for non-linear readings, and you've got some temps that are really off. voltage readings are going ot have a similar fault.

i'd imagine this is part of why manufacturers put temperature probes connected to baybuses, etc. better thermistor, and dedicated hardware to read the temp, i.e. one of those temp monitoring baybuses.

unfortunately, i don't think anyone will be measuring their vcore with a conventional voltmeter anytime soon lol.

this info is right, software volt readings are correct,

I think the problem with yours is that it recognizes different voltages for the proper one. Everest has issues with Mobos sometimes, did you get any warnings of incompatibility when you started Everest?

Your ds4 might just be too new for it as of now....
