You at least get the chance to go those speeds. I get AT&T (formerly Bellsouth) FastAccess DSL and the highest Download we get is 6MBPS, which I have. I never get anywhere near that, no matter what, but its what I got and its like 42.95 a month. 768KBPS is my upload limit and I of course, never get that as well. Id like to be able to upload more than 50kbps a second and download more than 156kbs (though I did get 288Kbps on a torrent one time) but thats just a pipe dream. If Im not mistaken, doesnt FiOS give about 70mpbs?

well i have comcast and currently pay almost 60 bucks a month for 16 down and 2 up. i cant imagine them asking for like 200 per month for 100mbits.

I just don't want too many people doing it at the same time The folks at CC are numbnutz but if too many are doing the same thing in one area then they're bound to do something about it, but they are just as liable to the screw factor as charter

This is crappy charter and kinda at a peak time while uploading at 100 KB/s.
Not too bad I guess. But not as good as when I had 40 Mbit (at college and they kicked me off b/c their ISP made them shut me down lol)

A little FYI about comcast speeds: My buddy on a legit modem in chitown has been gettin mid-upper 20s whenever they decide to let him d/l fast. So, in a good line quality area, I would suspect mid 20s easy with a hacked one.

Im one of them lucky buggas that are only highspeed broadband ozzy style adsl2+ 24 mb wich is woeful compared to lots of otha countries like ya said Japan.

no, and more than likely want. There making money, so what do they care. They only thing they could do was to cap the upload, so they could still keep customers. Most ISP will just ban you for life. But both ISP and customer loose in that deal.

US ISP's just need to invest in their network structures because we are falling behind in the world. Stupid fools think 8mb or 10mb speeds are going to stay mainstream forever.
