I think there is a Newegg warehouse in Memphis. I think it's time you do some exploring, possibly some infiltrating, and get us some cards early!:D

i think your right!
suddenly the "mission impossible" theme music comes to mind, let me go get my all black jumpsuit and my big white van. MUWhAHAHAHA! :D

but no seriously, anyone live near Memphis wanna pull a "ocean's 11" with me.

Sapphire 4870's 1gb versions if I can get them at launch, otherwise just two 512mb cards. I'm being foolish and paying for the expensive shipping too.:D

if you find a pre-order place let me know, ive been looking to pre-order them a long time

As always, ATI rolls out incredible products for the benchmarking community. The RV770 comes with 480 SP's, shader power is high because shaders are async to core clock.

800 SP's. (160 x 5) same clock speed as core.

Definitely get the 1GB if you're crossfiring.

There is absolutely nothing for 4870 right now... 4850's can probablly be bought for a ridiculous price right now out of Hong Kong, and amazon.com does list them. I have a feeling, I'll end up ordering from Newegg with next day air.

A user by the name of Jimmyz has a review is up for the 4850. Take a look if you want an idea of what the 4850 can do. At the time of this post, the review isn't up yet but soon will be. I thought I would give you a heads up.

gpuz bug i guess .. my 48xx should arrive tomorrow so new release soon

Do you have it yet?

If so, are you allowed to post GPU-Z screenies of it to end the specs war or does your supplier restrict you from that?

Man, this shader stuff is one of those mysteries that won't be solved until we get the site specs from ATi themselves. Its suppose to be 160 anyway. Whether its 160 * 5, 160 * 3, or 160 * 3 + 320 simple, ah its just too mind numbing to think about. But those scores are blowing every other mid-range card out of the water, especially the X2808.

I believe W1z gave us the biggest hint there was when he said this
Notice he said 160...

800 shaders does make more sence. There was only about 10-15% performance difference between the 3850 and the 3870.

If the 4870 has faster core, faster memory and more memory. That might do the trick.

Because if the 4850 only has 400, and the 4870 has 800, then it's more likely that the performance difference is 50% and not 15%.

Hi guys,
I am also a member here, mainly for reading this is my second most visited site after XS. I had intended to post my review up here also but I work a regular job and had a funeral and all the related stuff the last few days. I rec'd the card thur. and am just in the early stages of testing. I have determined the v-mod (i think) and also found that my DD maze 4 block will fit. The only thing left is for W1zzard or someone to Make a ocing utility work with this card. He should be recieving his soon so I can only imagine the bios tools and ocing stuff will be coming soon.

any questions or comments or if someone wants to re-post the thread for me is fine. I finally have crysis benches working in xp but in vista the app starts the game instead of the bench?? I looked all over the web re-installed etc, no luck. any advice is welcome.

Hi guys,
I finally have crysis benches working in xp but in vista the app starts the game instead of the bench?? I looked all over the web re-installed etc, no luck. any advice is welcome.

I was using the Crysis Benchmarking Tool with XP with no problems but when I installed Vista 64 I had the problem you described.

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1791

Are you using the Cyrsis Benchmarking Tool 1.05? I copied the application 'Crysis Benchmark Tool' and config file to the Game folder. I then copied from the Levels sub-folders each of the .tmd files to there respective Levels subfolders where Crysis is installed.

Program Files (x86) | Electronic Arts | Crytek | Crysis | Game | Levels |

I have a short-cut with the following properties:

Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Crysis Benchmark Tool.exe"

Start in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game"

If you're using a different method then maybe it's not locating the timedemo file.
