Athlon X2 4800+ 939 and HD4850 all at stock

Given up on the overclocking as the only improvements I see are in benchtests.
For now anyway so I give a stock clock result.

Alright, updated motherboard BIOS, turned on AutoXpress in BIOS, upped my CPU and RAM frequencies. Max stable OC so far, I can go further, just need some cooling on my NB

nice score Jmatt. I have the same processor at exactly 3.3GHz. However i'm running a 2900xt @ 800/900. My best run in 3dmark 06 has been 11450 3dmarks. Once I get new RAM I know I can push the processor more and yield more with my current card. Have you tried going over 3.4GHz????? I'm sure you could and that will increase your score a lot.

Yea I'm pretty sure I can go over 3.4GHz, however I need to put some cooling on the north bridge, because as soon as I up the voltage on it to get more stable, my temp skyrockets

Should be getting some more fans soon, I'll keep you updated

How many case fans do you have right now? Do you have the little fan that is supplied on the motherboard on?? That helps a lot with keeping the board cool overall. It helped on mine a lot.

On my CM Centurion 5, I have an 80mm intake on the HDD bay down the bottom, a 120mm mounted in the 5.25" drive bays blowing directly into my Zalman 9700NT which blows directly into the 120mm exhaust. I did mount that Extra fan on the PWMs, and also added an 80mm on the bottom air vent blowing on the graphics card. And the PSU ehaust above the mobo.

So the case is well ventilated, there's just no active cooling on the NB, so I'll buy a fan controller and mount the stock AM2 cooler on top of my graphics card blowing directly on the NB

oh ok, why dont you get a aftermarket cooler for your NB??? theres tons of cheap ones that look nice as well.

Because I already have the fan

and I have the same motherboard as you, the M3A32-MVP, so if I wanted to change just the northbridge cooler, I'd have to buy a NB, SB and PWM cooler that would all fit, or cut the NB part out, which destroys resell value

Much cheaper to just buy a fan cable adapter for a few dollars
