Dual slot 4850 has potential, do a little pencil modding, comes with some really nice stock clocks too, so maybe just see what Overdrive can do with it if the normal 700/1200 limits aren't there.

It's cool to see Gainward with some ATi products now.

They deserve some more market share.

That's a terribly good factory OC. That cooler must be up to snuff to be able to handle that heat.

With the HD 4850 getting upgraded, does anyone think that this is a bit overkill? I bet companies are focussed in this card is because its mostly for the consumer with that single PCIe power connector. Eitherway, GDDR3 is still a good thing along with the fact that the memory bandwidth is pretty fast. I like it, especially if they managed to make it cheaper than the 4870.

One very interesting review hire shows that even overclocked to GPU 800 / Mem 2500 a HD4850 is still 5-19% slower in modern games than stock HD4870. The most interesting thing is that you actually can acquire more additional power in games by overclocking memory then overclocking GPU (HD 4870) . It is crystal clear that GDDR 3 bottleneck the video card.

Nice job on the memory. I Dont think W1zz got that high with the Powercolor PCS 4850.

well GDDR5 is currently expensive because its so new, but it does have some major benefits, and probably will be implemented in future parts.
