Where are you that pc techs that do basic pc work make $75/hr? I need to move.
Everywhere in the USA. That's what they charge. That might not be what the employees make, but that's what the owners charge the customers.

I grant it that most of us proud "PC Master Race!" GODS could probably do this job ourselves in ten minutes, but what's the point of paying for a near top-of-the-line card if it doesn't come with something as simple as thermal pads. Then to have EVGA mail some thermal pads to us for fifty cents and say "deal with it" is pretty sad. If I owned an EVGA and they tried that crap on me, I'd return the card and switch brands.

Thought it was a given people avoided eVGA unless they just didn't know better.

Shame on those that mistreat their cards and claim under warranty as if they did nothing wrong.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

You would, without a doubt, be in the minority on that line of thinking...

...do tell, wise one, why the rest of the internet that disagrees with your assertion, should 'know better' for getting EVGA...

I returned my FTW. But I am not 'avoiding EVGA' from now on. Just this cooling solution.

The fact is, still, EVGA has some of the best aftersales in the biz and some notable advantages others do not offer. Extended warranty, warranty retained after mods and tweaks, step-up... there are enough good reasons besides the actual cooling solution and the boards are generally good - just the cooling on top of it is sometimes below par on certain parts. This IS a trend with EVGA though, one I'd love to see them step away from.

Let's not forget that we've seen similar fuckups from Asus, Gigabyte and pretty much every other big name in the industry.

In for people to stop buying Intel CPU's after all the chipset issues.
