Gaming never uses anywhere close to 16 GiB. Those cards are intended for compute and render workloads.

Polaris would be better in laptops than Vega at this point. Even if they made a smaller version of Vega, they wouldn't call it Vega.

Yes that is correct but the VEGA 16gb is more of an higher frequency since this is depended on the amount of stacks. Games don't use that much memory that's obvious. Maybe it has been changed and the top VEGA for gaming will equip 8GB of memory maximum.

8 GiB per stack is the maximum HBM2 can do. It's also available in 4 GiB, 2 GiB, and 1 GiB stacks. I don't think we'll be seeing a quad-stack like Fury X. If we do, it won't be Vega (doesn't have 1024-bit memory controller).

Made a cool $400 on AMD stock by buying when it plummeted. Time to roll that into a Vega card for my Ryzen rig. Freesync monitor so sticking with AMD.
