Mad Catz Global Limited, the new name for the leading innovators in gaming hardware for almost three decades, announced today an all-new range of R.A.T. gaming mice, serving as the first line of products to be released under the new company management and expected to begin shipping globally from Fall 2018. In addition to the new mice, Mad Catz Global are also expected to being shipping the E.S.Pro+ Gaming Earbuds, a new take on ultra-lightweight gaming audio in the same time frame.

The highly acclaimed, award-winning R.A.T. mice are renowned for their high levels of comfort and adjustability and the all-new R.A.T. line has been designed to build upon the proud lineage of hardware, adding cutting edge sensor technology, advanced features and RGB lighting to several of the mice.

The new R.A.T. range includes the following product:
  • R.A.T.1+An ideal introduction to the range, the R.A.T.1+ is built around a super-lightweight chassis that allows for swift and precise movement. Features the legendary adjustable palm rest and four programmable buttons, all running on Mad Catz F.L.U.X. software
  • R.A.T.2+ Bringing adjustable RGB ambient lighting to the R.A.T. range for the first time, the R.A.T.2+ features an adjustable palm rest, four programmable buttons and the popular Pixart PMW 3325 optical sensor, capable of withstanding high movement speeds of up to 100 inches per second and 20G of acceleration.
  • R.A.T.4+ Featuring industry leading OMRON switches (rated to a lifecycle of 20 million clicks), the R.A.T.4+ has been designed to deliver flawless precision at all times. Powerful LED's provide multi-zone backlighting while the Pixart PMW 3330 optical sensor delivers trusted performance.
  • R.A.T.6+ Ramping up the customization options, the R.A.T.6+ not only features nine programmable buttons and an adjustable palm rest but adds a removable weight system to the mouse allowing gamers to find their ideal weight for their weapon. Chameleon RGB Intelligent lighting, illuminates the mouse across three separate lighting zones, bathing the R.A.T. with over 16 million lighting combinations, while luxury OMRON switches have been tested to up to 50 million clicks for superior performance.
  • R.A.T.8+Designed for the professional gamer, the state-of-the-art Pixart PMW 3389 optical sensor delivers unrivalled precision across any gaming genre. Fully customisable, the R.A.T.8+ features an adjustable palm rest and thumb rest, as well as removable pinkie grip and if you don't like the feel of your components, the mouse even ships with replacements for the perfect fit. 18G of removable weights allow the gamer to perfect the feel of their R.A.T. while the three stage Chameleon RGB lighting keeps the R.A.T. looking as good as it performs. On board memory allows gamers to save up to three profiles, containing macro button, sensor and lighting settings when travelling to tournaments.
  • R.A.T. Pro S3 Lightweight, ergonomic and unmistakably R.A.T., the PRO S3 concentrates on delivering the essentials that many professional gamers demand. Powerful Pixart PMW 3330 sensor delivers proven gaming performance, while ultra-reliable OMRON switches have been tested to an impressive 50 million clicks. The palm rest is fully adjustable, tilting plus or minus 15 degrees side-to-side, and extending up to 12mm from the mainframe. Chameleon RGB lighting once again features.
  • R.A.T. Pro X3 Precision incarnate, the Pro X3 is the worlds' most adjustable mouse. Built upon a magnesium alloy chassis that's light and super strong, the R.A.T. Pro X3 utilizes a super-hydrophobic coating to keep hands dry in the heat of battle. The revolutionary scroll wheel system, uses optical technology and analogue axis capability, to precisely calibrate tension and speed. The scroll wheel system features the world's first analog strafe, utilizing the optical encoder which allows the wheel to pivot from side-to-side giving players unheard of movement and precision using the scroll wheel alone. Every aspect of the Pro X3 is customizable. Adjust palm rest, thumb rest and pinkie grip or replace the feet of the mouse to adjust the surface tension! Components of the mouse can be replaced entirely via a whole suite of extras which ship in box. Remarkably, with a simple click, gamers can replace the actual sensor unit of the mouse, and swap for a variety of sensor modules (sold separately) in an instant. No longer do gamers need to replace their mouse when new sensor technology becomes available, the Pro X3 provides a future proof platform designed to last a lifetime.

"Since previewing our new range of R.A.T. mice at CES 2018, gamers have responded with passion and enthusiasm for the return of the iconic range. We've been working hard to ensure that the products do justice to the incredible legacy of the R.A.T. name and are delighted to officially unveil the full range hitting stores later this year," said Selena Chang, Director of Sales and Operations for Mad Catz Global Limited. "The R.A.T. range has always been a beacon of innovation and we're now confident we have a R.A.T. for every budget and gaming need, each one offering superb value and quality."

Packing all the quality and performance of a full-size gaming headset into a small form factor, the E.S.Pro+ Gaming Earbuds are incredibly lightweight and portable, making them idea for tournament play and sustained gaming sessions. True plug-and-play design allows the Earbuds to be plugged in to any PC and feature enlarged 13.5mm speaker drivers with dual microphones to give crystal-clear clarity to online chat. The E.S.PRO+ Gaming Earbuds ship with an assortment of different earbud sizes, allowing the gamer to customize their earbud to the shape of their own ears.

Interesting design, as always, but these are very expensive for a mouse, $150-$300 for their previous RAT models. I'll leave these to the professionals who really need them.

im glad madcats is back, hope this new era wont be affected by clumsy add-ons, insanely overpriced marketing and poor support,

We want less RGB, plastic and fancy addns, but more performance, quality and better support.

Regards

I swear i still haven't had the pleasure to meet someone who would buy this garbage.

My nephew had the RAT7 when it came out and honestly it's probably the nicest mouse I've ever used apart from the IME3.0. They seem to have had issues (locking themselves to X- or Y movement) though, so i hope these have that resolved.

Haven't used any of their products in years, but back when Saitek made them, they were actually quite nice, well made products.
Yes, they look insane, but the adjustability is actually more than a gimmick. Had a couple of Saitek joysticks back in the day built in the same concept as well. Very durable products.
Can't speak for Mad Catz or Mad Catz reborn though.

I still rock an r.a.t.iii that i got from Best buy for $65 a hand full of years back, probly the most comfortable mouse I've ever used because of the weight and the fact that it's adjustable. I guess if it breaks I would get another , maybe get a new model if the prices drop.

Rats have always been garbage mice, with horribly stupid design and useless features, while having subpar sensors and components, so yeah the fact some of you buy these doesn't mean they're good products, they're objectively bad products overall.

Sadly no, it's not my opinion, not in this case. Shapes are subjective, maybe weight, but build quality and components quality isn't a matter of opinion. Oh and price.

Well, it seems that quite a few people disagree, including me. (why are you so angry about a mouse?)
I've broken a Rat (had an oak table parked on it during a move), I've given a couple as gifts and I'm still the owner of a 8 year old one.
I've never had any issues and I really like the adjustable design...I've heard about sensor issues but only from somebody who knows somebody.

Angry? I'm not angry, just stating facts, mad catz mice were always low quality - high price useless gimmicks, nothing more, nothing less.

I had a R.A.T.7 and a RAT8.

R.A.T.7 was replaced because it had the bad habit of shocking me when I used it (after using it for around 3 or 4 years or more.)
RAT8 was replaced because one of the thumb buttons fell off. After a little less than a year. And by that time they had gone into bankruptcy, so I'm up shit's creek now in terms of that mouse.

They were very nice mice, and fit my hand perfectly (of course). But my Logitech G502 seems to be serving me quite well anyway now.

Ive never owned a Ratz product, but im a little interested in these products because of all the ways you can ajust them. Im dont care about the looks, for me its all about function i daily use, it could be pink and it didnt matter for me.
Mabye its just me that didnt read the press release good enough, but can those mouse be used by a left hand guy otherwise im left in the dark ?.

At home we have used Rat 7, Rat X, Rat 1 (cheapest and lightest mouse you can imagine, but not very precise for gaming or drawing, great for general tasks) and Rat X Pro. In fact I have bought a 2nd Rat X Pro for the future. It was at sale for 80 € ;)
Main + points: light weight, light movement (great slider pads), build quality miles ahead, fresh feeling, adjustability. And software to make profiles After saving them (on-mice) you can uninstall and it keeps your profiles.
