Yes, that's why RX470, 480, 570 and 580 were all better choices than the 1060. Mid range is the most common class for gamers. Vega 56 with the current prices is also a great choice. And it's funny to read this after NV's current gen, only the GTX 1660 and 1660Ti have reasonable price-performance ratio, while the 2070, 2080 and the 2080Ti are ridiculously priced.

You seem to misunderstand me. The news post implies speculates in limited general availability of Navi dice, not just of specially-binned, limited-edition-grade ones. That's my issue here, not whether this edition is truly limited - of course it is. It's right there in the name, after all. I doubt AMD has any issues getting enough 7nm capacity from TSMC given how promising their products look these days, Nvidia moving to Samsung, and Apple moving to 7nm+. Are there any big IC makers beyond Qualcomm left to take up fab capacity then? QC is by no means small, but there ought to be enough capacity for AMD to get what they want/need. And yes, of course there are 2-3 month lead times between ordering more wafer starts and having finished chips ready, but that's not really relevant in relation to the weird unfounded speculation in the OP.Well, first AMD must decide what their allotment 7nm wafer starts go toward Ryzen 3000 production and how much should go to Navi. From that they need to test and bin those that make the silicone lottery to provide the 1830 Gaming clock. While then you'd have to guess/judge how many intend to pay a premium. I'm sure they'll do one production run for this (silicon and gold trim) and call it done. The remaining chips will get to go to AIB's willing to ante up for the remaining binned parts for their special/OC'd builds. I'd put number of say 2500-5000 and call it done.

It's every AMD gfx release. I bought a Radeon Vega FE, so I know what it's like to be burned once by AMD.
Don't get me wrong, still works great, probably last another 2 - 3 years. Just bought a second one for $300, but the original one, I think I paid over $800 in the Vega hype train.

I don't know how reliable this site OC3D.net is but they claim AMD sent them this statement:
"Friendly reminder that just because someone writes it doesn't mean it is true....

Sorry we are not offering global availability at this point. We hear you on the desire. The team is focused on expanding into more regions/countries while making sure we can fully support customers."

Don’t feel bad I paid $1000 US and that was after some price drops..Norway is expensive...Yerp, I willingly bought into rajar's crap, got the Kickstarter edition to be on the bleeding edge.
At least it was a good mining card at the time.

Yerp, I willingly bought into rajar's crap, got the Kickstarter edition to be on the bleeding edge.
At least it was a good mining card at the time.
I also paid in total 795€ for Vega 64 but this inluded EK water block.
But with water cooler it was nice card. For 2K monitor gaming, it did not disappoint me.
I could extract extra performance from it and while running at max 42°C.
I sold Vega two months ago on eBay and earned back 370€.
I went to Radeon VII which I water cool also.
Here also water cooler is needed to make it run better.
Thank You for that! Needed a good laugh.*Whitehouse giftshop wants to know your location*

Weird, for me the major disappointments from AMD have been HD 2900, RX 480, RX 580 & RX 590
Agreed. The RX580 was a damn decent GPU, especially the 8GB versions. How could the 580 be a disappointment? You must have had a Tahiti card before.

It was, agreed. However as a "flagship" card it left users wanting. But it was very sold middle segment.
Fully aware I'm going to sound like a broken record, but that depends greatly on how you run your games. Disabling AA improves performance greatly, turning what would otherwise be a midrange card into an excellent performer and much greater value. It was, agreed. it was never meant to be a flagship. It was a replacement for the Tahiti based GPUs from the 7970 to R9290 (3 GB) and meant to be a price/performance card. It delivered vs them by giving you the same or better performance at a much lower power draw. I t also blew it's direct competitor from Nvidia (1060) out of the water. The Fury was the flagship at the time until we got Vega. Even today if I was looking for a mid range GPU I would buy the 580 before anything else (well maybe Used Vega 56 are pretty attractively priced right now).

You're kidding with that right? China isn't as poor as everyone thinks. There are a ton of rich people there now. That's not really a market where people have much money.
The problem lies with having to do that since 2005.Disabling AA improves performance greatly, turning what would otherwise be a midrange card into an excellent performer and much greater value.
