This problem is going to last while Ethereum remain above 100$, and a huge fall is not going to happen.
Actually I just ask myself : in how much time I can cover the gap over MSRP selling my stupid coins ? I'm not a miner but I don't want to pay extra for nothing.
I ran a few number, and it would take around 3-4 months of mining 24/7 to make 400$ easy, even with high prices on energy. Ethereum is so high it doesn't matter anymore, it's an optimization.
So basically :
- You buy a 750€ RX 6700 XT => 750€ easy to find in europe in the biggest online and 100% legit resellers, you can order all day long.
- you Mine like 12h a day (sleep + work average)
- you cash out every 50€ so you don't get impacted by traders
- in a matter of 6 month, you made 300€ and are back at MSRP
- quit mining and stop polluting for nothing
This is clearly sad to make plans like this but it works, it's safe (pretty much), and you don't have to mine for the rest of your life. The fact is you "help" by mining : other miners will start to get less money (it's negligeable at our scale).
I don't know if it's the best thing to do, but I'm searching for 3 months now, and I came to the conclusion that fighting bots to get one of the few GPU produced AND getting in our store is a lost cause.
It's also pretty close to a RTX 3070, so, even if I wish to have a 6800, it's going to be a 6-month fight I'm not ready to take this way.
